Nature's Image Photography Workshops And Tours Nature's Image Photography Andrew Goodall has been a professional nature photographer for over 35 years.

His work is refreshingly free of the trappings of excessive digital manipulation. Andrew's simple philosophy is to let nature do the talking. Andrew was the owner of one of the longest running photo galleries in Australa - Nature's Image Photography - in Montville from 1993 to 2017. He recently closed the gallery to create more free time to develop photography workshops and tours. Andrew's Photogr

aphy Essentials workshops have been running since 2008 and have over 1500 people take their first steps in creative photography. Andrew continues to develop a variety of more advanced tuition options, and in recent years has become host to a variety of tours in the Australian outback, as well as more exotic locations including Norfolk Island, New Zealand and Vanuatu.

We are reaching the end of stage 1 of our India tour. Like every tour I do with Pierre Duval and Guiding the Wild it has been packed with highlights and some great photo ops. From the Indian culture (and food!!) to being face-to-face with Bengal Tigers, wild Rhinos and rare apes...I will have plenty of stories to tell. In a couple of days we start heading for the mountains and the 'cold' stage 2 of this great adventure.

HAPPY NEW YEAR to all my Facebook followers. Last night I released the first of two 'Favourite Photos of 2024' videos on YouTube. This one features photos taken on the Panasonic Lumix S5ii. I'm still working on one for the G9ii. So click below and take a look at Part 1.

Here's a selection of my favourite photos of the year, shot on the Panasonic Lumix S5ii. Keep an eye out for my upcoming companion video, shot on the G9ii (s...

Another shot that I never shared back when I was showing off my photos from the Tanzania tour. Partly because the view is so massive I don't think a small screen can do it justice. This is a 14-shot merged panorama of 'The Goat Hole' near Lake Natron - a crater where local herders would bring livestock to keep them safe and contained.

It's that time of year when I start working on a compilation of my favourite photos of the year. I don't just pluck out the best of my previously-posted work - I like to go back through the files and see what I never got around to posting, or photos I somehow missed completely first time around. This is just one of many...taken an Point Arkwright during a birds-in-flight workshop earlier this year.

I was teaching a day of one-on-one tuition in Maleny yesterday. We finished our practice with a stop at one of the best Glasshouse Mountains lookouts. My student Angela went home around 5pm, but with no particular place to be, I stayed on right until the sun went down. It seems the cows know exactly when to make an appearance, with this shot taken moments before the sun dipped below the horizon.

There are so many memories that make up an African tour experience...like being unable to resist stopping to photograph one more Impala, even though you have seen thousands of them already.

Near Lake Masek, we encountered this elephant that had lost most of its trunk (possibly to a poacher's snare) but was still looking healthy and enjoying life having made it to the safety of Ngorongoro Concession.

For every lion photo I already shared, there are dozens more that are just as good, and each one represents a special memory, especially as I had my friends on board to enjoy the moment with me.

I have a day off, and not much to do with all this rain, so I'm looking back through my African tour photos from earlier this year. I have already shared enough photos to fill a book, but I could fill ten more books with all the photos you haven't seen yet. Like landscape shots that you can't resist shooting even though it's a wildlife tour.

Before I teach something I first have to learn how to do it myself. My new YouTube video sent me on a really interesting learning curve. If you're interested to see what the new Lumix Lab app can do, check out my new video:

Thanks to the Caboolture Photography Club for hosting me as your guest speaker on Tuesday night. I did a talk on some of the amazing emerging features of mirrorless cameras - including constant preview, subject detection AF, live view composite, high resolution modes and even touched on what some of the newest apps can do. My presentation was really well received...some people didn't know what their cameras were capable of, others did know but were yet to try them out. I also got to show off a few of my favourite photos from the past couple of years. Thanks again Caboolture PC, always a pleasure to come and see you.

The family had dinner a little late last night. I went in to town to get groceries in the late afternoon. I said I might be a little longer than usual if the storms looked interesting. Well the storms looked very interesting and although dinner was late, I got some great shots.

A friend at Ted's reminded me about the comet that is passing through our neighbourhood right now. Tonight I headed out to give it a go, and for a long time the clouds prevented me seeing much of anything. Just as I was about to give up, I spotted the tail of the comet in one of my photos. So I stayed on as the sky cleared, and managed to get some worthwhile images of this rare event.

KENYA PHOTO SAFARI - JULY/AUGUST 2025
In association with Guiding the Wild
After four amazing tours in Tanzania, next year we're going somewhere new! Our amazing Kenya tour features wildlife photo opportunities like no other, in some of Africa's most iconic locations. We'll be seeing the famous wildebeest migration and so much more - if you saw it on the Lion King, you'll see it in Kenya! We visit world renowned national parks including Masai Mara and Amboseli, and even finish with a three day retreat (optional) at a private island resort. We've had lots of inquires but some spots are still up for grabs. Check out the details here:
