After a prolonged wet season there was a lot more water than usual at Ngorongoro Crater. So wet in fact that we couldn't get to the famous hippo pool for our usual lunch stop. Happily we didn't need to, as one of famous hippos came to us!
Guiding the Wild
Also from Manyaleti - at the Mantobeni camp where we stayed for a few nights, the poolside entertainment at lunchtime was something special.
I'm back in Tanzania with BushBaby Safaris and a new group of travelling friends. We're just a few days in but we have seen SO MANY elephants, heaps of lions and other wildlife. And today we passed the 100 bird species mark. Another fantastic experience. As usual, while on tour I'm just sharing images from my phone. But I'll have a mountain of great new photos to share when I get home.
A little bit of slow-mo from the butterfly house workshop on Sunday
I have been having some fun lately playing with something new - the time-lapse feature on my camera. I guess you're never too old to learn new tricks and this is like having a whole new toy to play with. This short time-lapse was shot over about half an hour as the sun went down and the lights came up in Maleny.
Did you ever wonder if butterflies know they're pretty? I shot this bit of slow-motion at my Butterfly House Photography Workshop yesterday.
I save most of my video for YouTube but I thought it would be fun to share this playful moment from the zoo yesterday. Shot in slow motion using VFR video function on the Lumix G9.
