The club was formed by a community-spirited group in the early 50's, and was established on its present site in 1953.

It has undergone several upgrades and expansions along the waterfront from its initial corner venue. Wangi District Workers' Club is a community based licensed club, located on the Lake Macquarie foreshore, on the outskirts of Wangi Wangi township at 11 Market Street Wangi Wangi 2267. It has a membership of 5,500 people, with high local participation, but also with a significant broader representa

tion - Sydney, Newcastle and Cessnock areas - a legacy of its lakeside position and the traditional holiday-focus of the area.
