MATES in Construction QLD & NT BIG LAP fundraiser launches tomorrow!

It's a virtual event held during the entire month of May to raise awareness about mental health and su***de across the construction, mining, energy, and manufacturing industries.

With your MATES you can set goals, and whether walking, running, riding, or swimming, everyone can help achieve the goals, while promoting positive physical and mental health.

All funds raised from BIG LAP go towards keeping boots on the ground to help save lives.

Wow! What an achievement. We are so proud of the National Fire Industry Association of Australia - NFIA who’ve raised over 1M in donations through NFIA Patron’s Walk for Charity.

A special announcement on ANZAC Day.

A significant milestone for the NFIA Patron’s Walk for Charity, raising over a $1M in donations to help veterans in crisis.

The NFIA's Patron’s Walk has raised more than $1 million for brain and medical research to help support soldiers and those living with mental health conditions.

The $1 million milestone achievement has been five years in the making, kickstarted in 2019 with the group’s inaugural walk along the Great Ocean Road which raised $255,000.

Congratulations to our Patron, Brian Davies and his wife, Liz, their fellow walkers, The Queensland Brain Institute and Gallipoli Medical Research for their ongoing hard work and to our Members and beyond for their donations.

The Bravery Trust Kokoda Trail ANZAC DAY trek is back in 2025!

We're so excited to partner with Bravery Trust for another incredible adventure. Bravery Trust changes lives by ensuring that veterans and their families do not suffer due to their service and are provided with immediate support in their time of need.

The trek runs from the 20th to 29th of April 2025 and we have a special early bird offer for anyone who signs up before 1st October 2024.

The Early Bird offer is $5,590 per person. To secure your spot at this early bird price, a $500 deposit must be paid before 1st October 2024.

From the 1st of October 2024, the early bird offer will end and the trek will return to the regular price of $6,090 per person and a $1000 deposit.

One year on and our 2023 Bravery Trust trekkers are catching up at the MCG for the Richmond vs Melbourne ANZAC Day eve match. We love seeing the incredible and long-lasting connections people make while trekking Kokoda.

Mateship is one of the four pillars of Kokoda. The people who encourage and support you through the ups and downs on the track make the experience of trekking Kokoda unforgettable.

They have done it🙌🙌🙌Our Winter Shelter Team at Owers’ Corner at the end of their Kokoda trek early this morning. From here they will visit the Bomana war cemetery to pay their respects and then back for a well earned rest and dinner@at the hotel.

Winter Shelter Toowoomba Trek Update:

After a very hot climb up the ridge yesterday the team had an emotional ceremony on Brigade Hill before making the long downward trek to the river and then up to Menari village. From there they took on the steep hot up through Menari Gap and then down into the mud to head into Brown River for the night. Today they stepped off to head up to beautiful Nauro village and are currently taking on the gruelling climb up the 9 false peaks toward Ofi Creek and Ioribaiwa Ridge.

The last 2 days are always tough on track so keep them in your thoughts.

Our amazing Winter Shelter Toowoomba team at Kokoda Station before heading off on trek. On arrival the team visited the museum and also walked the Kokoda plateau after Matt provided a brief about the history on the lead up and the battles that took place here. Our trekkers were able to ‘stand in history’ and pay their respects to all those who fought in this area during the campaign.They are all in good spirits and are on track to reach their night location.
