A motorcycle rider has been killed and two other people seriously injured in a crash between Albany and Esperance.

A 67-year-old male died in the crash in West River, between Jerramungup and Ravensthorpe, on South Coast Highway just before 9am.

Police say the two motorcycles and a Holden Commodore were involved in the crash. A 68-year-old male rider and 26-year-old male driver of the vehicle have been flown to Royal Perth Hospital.

The highway was closed in both directions for several hours following the crash.
