Chook is off to the States!

After a solid FIBA Asia U18 performance for NZ, Annika has been recognised as one of 40 top high-school aged prospects across the globe! *insert whistles and banging drums*

This acknowledgment landing Chook a spot at the Basketball Without Borders camp this July. So proud of the achievements this young lady keeps making, putting in the hard work every step of the way.

SMS athlete and all round top chick, Annika ‘Chook’ Scott, has earned her spot in the Junior Tall Ferns for the FIBA U18 Asia Cup in China.

If you’ve ever met Chook, you’d know how hard she works and her absolute determination and dedication to excelling on and off the court. We’re so proud of you Chook! But a special shout out to her incredible family for always being her biggest cheerleaders and supporters.

With a starting length of 55.5 cm and coming in a “small’ 4.12kgs, it’s safe to say she’s a beautiful healthy addition to the team. The Boss, aka Mom, is doing exceptionally well (Dad did good too). Jnr Trainer Ziya has taken to her new role beautifully.

As we close out 2023, we want to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who has supported us this year. From the athletes who showed up and put in the work, parents who made sure alarms were set and sessions made, and the communities who welcomed us and continued to remind us about what was important.
