Wow !!!
Arrived in Galapagos and wildlife certainly did not disappoint. As soon as we arrived at the jetty at San Cristobal there were sea lions , crabs and iguanas.

Went to a Giant Tortoise sanctuary as well.

Now the Amazon adventure begins .
I have arrived and checked in to the beautiful La Selva Eco-lodge. What an amazing adventure to get here . Short 30 minute flight from Quito to Coca , then a 2 hour ride on a motorised canoe up the Napa River . You then swap to a paddle canoe on a lake for 20 minutes to arrive at the resort . Certainly gets you excited .

Today was about going to higher in altitude hoping for a glimpse of Cotopaxi . An active volcano with a peak of 5892 metres.
We had amazing timing and were lucky enough to see the peak .
Also went for a walk around a lake at 3800 metres , visited a rose farm ( Ecuador is major exporter of roses) Can buy a dozen roses for $US 5 at the local market .

Went to a Hacienda ( old Spanish mansion) for lunch .

Had an enjoyable day exploring the Six Senses of Quito. Doing the standard church visiting and chocolate tasting empanad...

After 24 hours of flying and transiting I arrived in Lima for 1 night before making our way to our first destination of Quito, Ecuador.
Haven’t felt the altitude as yet . 🤞it stays that way.

Was guided by a fellow group member to a little cafe called Romance Coffee for delicious arepas and empanadas. Amazing !!!
