Private guided visit with ceramic artist, Dianne Turner of Clay & Culture showing us her entry in the 2023 Hidden sculpture trail walk in Rookwood Cemetery, Sydney.
Di's installation reflects on the transformation of objects in time. She uses a rescue chandelier found binned in Parramatta CBD. Once an object ofluxury and glamour, it has been subjected to the elements, weathering its previous shiny glory with rust. However, the remnant crystal pieces still reflect light, rainbows of colour, and a feeling of hope. The addition of porcelain faces - spirit orbs - represent the souls that we remember, like her ancestors buried at Rookwood Cemetery.

Last day of the Noosa Open Studios for 2023. Make sure Bage Studios at Peregian Beach, Lake Weyba is on your must visit list! The bushland setting is absolutely stunning as is Neita Bage's ever-evolving, refined eclectic body of work. Even her home has been lovingly handcrafted over the years and was previously a fine-dining restaurant that Neita built and ran with her husband.🤩

A stop at Kay Wright's home studio on the Lake Weyba Noosa Pottery Trail. Kay delighted our tour guests with a presentation of her beautiful raku and saggu-fired creations, using locally-sourced items such as native botanicals, horse-hair and macadamia nuts ... even one of her kilns was made from a locally-sourced discarded barbeque found at the local tip!
Kay also occasionally does kiln building workshops at the Cooroy Butter Factory Arts Centre

OPEN STUDIOS REGISTRATION CLOSING MON 11 SEPTEMBER, 5PM AEST

We would love you to join us and open your studio for this national event on Sat 11 & Sun 12 November 2023.

Open Studios is a great opportunity to sell work pre-Christmas rush, meet other makers and members of your local community and celebrate the diversity of practice within our industry. Full-time, part-time, hobbyist, occasional dabbler - if you have a studio space (carport or otherwise!) this is the opportunity to share it.

We hope to see an abundance of open studios across the nation, enabling more pockets of openings in regional and non-major city areas, creating a ground swell of activity and new audiences.

All registrants will need to provide their Public Liability certificate to participate in the event.
