Aviation passengers are being reminded they must continue to wear a face mask at the airport and onboard the aircraft despite the mandatory mask requirement being removed in most New South Wales venues.

Australian Airports Association (AAA) Chief Executive James Goodwin said face masks were still required in the airport terminal, on aircraft and on public transport.

“We know those living in New South Wales are excited about life getting back to normal and having most COVID requirements removed today but travellers need to be reminded that this does not include airports,” Mr Goodwin said.

“We’ve received reports today of some travellers arriving at the terminal without a mask. If you are taking to the skies, you need to make sure you come prepared."

Qantas says Ciao! To Rome!

The seasonal route will operate from 22 June until 6 October. Qantas will offer connections to 16 destinations in Europe including Athens, Barcelona, Frankfurt, Nice, Madrid and Paris and 15 destinations within Italy including Milan and Venice.

Flights will be departing 3 times a week Sydney to Rome via Perth cutting travel time down by 3 hours being the fastest way to get to Rome from Sydney.

Lebanon Travel New Update

Beirut International Airport is operating at reduced capacity. You must register on the MoPH Pass website prior to boarding your flight to Lebanon and submit a negative COVID-19 (PCR) test result or proof of vaccination on the website. Exemptions for pre-flight COVID-19 (PCR) testing may apply, including for vaccinated travellers. Contact your airline or the nearest embassy or consulate of Lebanon for further details

You'll be required to undergo a COVID-19 (PCR) test on arrival (at your own cost) and remain in home quarantine until you receive your test result. Payment for the PCR test is to be made via the MoPH Pass website before your flight. Exemptions for on-arrival COVID-19 (PCR) testing may apply. Follow the advice of local authorities.
