Weighing in at over 3T, and powered by a 3ltr engine, the GU Patrols can struggle sometimes 😁

The RoutePatrol has most of the little tricks to keep the gr***de pin from coming out 'again'

With a safe tune and boost, it's decent to drive, but lacks the simplicity of 'on the fly' adjustments.

It's not just about power, but driveability in different situations, with a simple add on like a throttle controller, the response can be adjusted at the push of a button.

From slow and controlled to an enhanced feel without the normal lag associated with common rail diesels.

The RoutePatrol isn't out there smashing hardcore trails, but it does a lot of mapping and trail checks, carries a decent load and needs to adapt to lots of different conditions.

It's much nicer with a controlled feel.

There's a reason they're Australia's biggest selling Throttle Controller, they work!

Combined with an ECU tune by ECPT Performance & Mechanical and Spool/Boost controlled with a Tillix kit by Tillix Performance and Tuning the RoutePatrol performs great.

What tools should I carry?

It all depends on the ride.....

Keep it simple and if you're not sure, always work on your bike at home with the kit you intend taking away with you.

You'll quickly find what you need, and just as importantly, what you don't need.....

A tip for puncture repairs, it's often mentioned that the glue doesn't work on certain types of tubes...we gave up years ago, it's quick and easy enough to change a tube.

But if you get stuck and need to patch one, DC carries 5 min areldite, and it's patched plenty, including an Ultra heavy duty tube on the full lap and lasted 9,000kms through WA and SA before being swapped out.

Our Motocache finder is getting an update, along with a simplified Collection Manager.

In addition, will include the associated track file.

The previous token scoring is changing to a points system towards prizes or ride tickets.

When riders contact us, or show up to a ride and say their GPS has been doing 'funky stuff', (especially if they've converted the track to a route or when using the trip function) after checking the .err and temp txt files, we usually find it's not the device, it's the unchecked and untested track files being used that were downloaded from some websites.

Generally this has had them confused thinking they had intermittent problems with their GPS unit or that they were doing something wrong, when in fact it was because of the inconsistent quality of various track files.

Cleaning some of these files to the standard we'd expect can actually take more time at the computer than doing them correctly from start to finish, inclusive of time on the trail............................................

We are no longer servicing 'free' Quick Fix requests to reshape, repair or correct track/route files created by others or downloaded from file share groups, pages or websites.

We'll only release what we have either prepared, checked, pre-ridden and/or driven ourselves.

Here's a very small section of a large file rec'd for a 'Quick Fix', sure, it doesn't take too long, but then there's the other 600kms of spaghetti, we'd have to add lots of sauce..........

Zero has now resorted to chucking rocks at DC..............................
On a serious note, (especially in rain) resist the urge to take off your goggles or lift your visor unless wearing safety's.

When they fog up. it might be an inconvenience, but it's better than losing an eye, this one was a solid shot to safety specs!
