Eye spy with my little eye.... 👀 As we have been getting mugged a lot in the last week (whales deciding to people-watch and approach our vessels), we have some cool facts about their eyeballs!
Humpback whales have small, dark eyes that give them a panoramic view of the ocean. They are roughly the size of a grapefruit! Their vision is fine-tuned for the dim light of the deep sea, and they have a special "third eyelid" for extra protection.

Not only do we get wonderful whales on our tours, we also get visited by delightful dolphins. We have had dozens of dolphins visit our vessels, often playing in the waves at the front of the bow.
Dolphins and humpback whales generally exhibit mutual tolerance when sharing the ocean, often seen swimming and feeding in the same areas without conflict.
