In response to COVID-19 travel restrictions and advice by the Australian and Tasmanian Governments, there has been a significant reduction in patronage on the Bruny Island ferry service.

As a result, we have discussed with the Tasmanian Government the need to temporarily reduce services at this time while providing access to and from the Island for workers, essential commuters and residents.

As of April 27th the Bruny Island Ferry services will reduce from 12 services daily to 8, servicing morning and afternoon transport including the school bus run. The amended timetable is below.

These changes are only temporary and services will be re-instated when Government travel restrictions open up.

This is a very difficult time for all of us and we appreciate your support as we manage this situation as best we can to meet the needs of our community.

Please take care at this time.

It’s a perfect day for soup!!!

It’s a perfect day for soup!!!

FREE SOUP TODAY - one of our chefs just made a MASSIVE pot of potato and leek soup (it took two of us to lift it off the stove)

We will have a hot pot on our counter from 2pm today - please feel free to call in a grab a cup to go!

Also, if anyone would like to take some home for someone running low on food and supplies, please let us know and we'll be happy supply some to be heated at home.

02/04/2020

As an essential service, we will continue to operate to enable access to medical, healthcare, grocery, agricultural and trade supplies, and to allow residents and workers to travel to and from the island.

We do prefer that people purchase tickets online or use non-cash payment options wherever possible to minimise cash-handling.

While using the ferry service, you should continue to practice good hygiene, adopt social distancing and remain inside your vehicle where possible.

If you are required to self-isolate or are feeling unwell, you should not use the ferry service.

For the latest information about COVID-19 in Tasmania, please go to www.coronavirus.tas.gov.au or call the national 24-hour COVID-19 line on 1800 020 080. The coronavirus website has more details about what constitutes essential travel.

A message from SeaLink Bruny Island..

At SeaLink we continue to follow the advice from the Federal and State Governments in relation to COVID-19, and this includes following the health and safety advice and continuing to operate as an essential service.

Public transport (including ferries) is considered an essential service and is therefore exempt from the travel and social gathering restrictions. However, wherever possible, passengers should try to adhere to the social distancing recommendations and we do ask that you stay in your vehicle where possible. Our crew are important for your ongoing travel needs so we do need them to have limited contact.

We have always had stringent and rigorous hygiene standards, cleaning procedures and health and safety practices and during this time we have stepped up our practices even further.

At this stage we are operating to the advertised ferry schedule however we will monitor this and be sure to advise the community if there are to be any changes in line with your travel needs and Government regulations.

A message from Bruny Island Safaris

To all of our friends, followers and past guests.
It's with great regret that we will be closing down all of our tour buses until further notice. Currently we are not able to comply with the latest round of Covid 19 distancing regulations. We will keep everyone posted and hopefully we can keep you all entertained with regular image and story updates and in particular any news on a soft reopening.
Thank you to all of our staff that have put in 150% over the past 8 years and we wish you all the best over the coming weeks and months. Hoping to have you all back onboard again soon.
All the best,
Craig & Lelle

An Island for an Island starts tomorrow. Can't make it down here to show your support? Why not head on over to Hotel Bruny and support this auction that's taking bids now!!

To kick things off for us, we are auctioning a Bruny Island getaway for two (but hey, if you win and you want to bring the kiddos along, we'll work something out for you).

The entire winning bid will go directly to helping Kangaroo Islanders with rebuilding their lives after the catastrophic bushfire that ravaged their island home.

What you get in return for helping Kangaroo Islanders: 2 nights at our gorgeous new lodge + a meal at Hotel Bruny. That includes one of our tasty appetisers and a round of drinks, mains for two and a dessert to share or two desserts if you are feeling very ambitious!

Call by for coffee in the morning and another big THANK YOU!

Starting bidding at $100, with every cent going to support our distant friends on Kangaroo Island via the Kangaroo Island Mayoral Relief and Recovery Bushfire Fund.

Auction to end at 6pm on Saturday, but you can still contribute by joining us at Hotel Bruny where 100% of sales from Bruny Island Cider and Bruny Island Beer from the 25th to the 27th will be donated to the KI Mayoral Relief Fund ❤

---

We are so proud to be on board with this great initiative from Nick Haddow and are looking forward to rolling out a few more contributions over the coming days and weeks.

This Bruny Island Getaway is to be used by December 15, 2020, but if you can't use it in time please just let us know and we will arrange an extension.

And once again, a big thanks to on Instagram for sharing this gorgeous picture from the Lodge. We love it when our guests share their photos with us!
