Minke trip July 2025 with three awesome hosts. Join me, Matt Waters, founder along with two of my good buddies, founder of and Martin Connolly founder of as we spend 5 nights aboard the MV Argo cruising through the of Australia’s Great Barrier Reef. With only 12 GUESTS on board we aim to maximise the in-water time with an OPEN-DECK POLICY. That means no hanging around waiting for your turn or having to cut it short to allow others in. To top it off Nicolas is opening up his epic knowledge and expert eye to assist with your photography needs for the duration of the trip. We will focus on the Minke Whale experience and since they are super inquisitive and loiter at the surface with swimmers we anticipate most of the action to be up top, however, we will also conduct scuba dives for certified divers when they’re Minkes aren’t in a playful mood.

Ever wondered what type of boat you’d be spending your time on during Africa’s Sardine Run? Wonder no more, if you’re considering the adventure (and I highly recommend it) get in touch and we’ll tell you all about the epic Offshore Africa Port St Johns team and their fabulous services.

What boats are used?

🌊 We use 7.2m & 8m RIB’s with high powered outboards.
🌊 Each vessel is licensed to carry 12 passengers including skipper and guide; however, for the Sardine Run expedition trips only, we have now introduced a limit of maximum 8 people. We have found that a) it is more comfortable on the boat for a smaller group size and b) way more manageable to have smaller groups in-water on any given action
🌊 Our boats are certified by SAMSA and carry all the required safety equipment including oxygen, trauma kits and communication devices.
