I deadheaded the roses today in preparation for the workshops. Are you coming ? They will be so much fun ! I have spots still available on the 23rd and 30th. I know the last date is Easter and it will be fabulous here in Tenterfield at ‘The Autumn Festival ‘. The town will ablaze in colour. The ‘snip and tie’ bouquet workshop will run for three hours; and there will be tea and cake. The cake will be baked by the fabulous Gillian . If that doesn’t entice you then a bucket of blooms to take home just might ! I will show you how to snip correctly, then make your own bouquet.

We spent the morning snipping dahlias and then pulling ivy out of the poplars that are on our boundary fence. Great satisfaction pulling it out of the trees.

Something I read the other day, a quote from Monty Don.

A stroll through the new dahlia patch. These tubers were curated by Bec @serenade_dahlias for us here @whitecottage_flowerfarm_ . We already have a patch of 400 or so, but we wanted more as we sell to floral artists and really just enjoy growing them. I’m not good at making decisions especially when it comes to dahlia colours, there are just too many choices, agreed ? So I asked Bec to choose pales and autumnal colours. I love them all Bec ! Best decision I made was to hand the reins over… great choices. Thanks again Bec. The trellis you stroll past to get to cottage/shop and dahlias, roses. Pinkie climber is always flowering with the clematis growing through her. Such an entrance, and such a treat. With Pinkie being multi stemmed, she really covers a trellis, fence or arbour. Great shelter for clematis cool, loving roots. Open only by appointment.
