Drum roll please!! Actually, before the drum roll, something to note: Facebook, in their wisdom, have decided that our new name doesn't reflect our business and so we weren't able to simply change the name of this page even though it does reflect our business. This means we've had to create a new page with the new name (link following) and we'd love it if you could please follow us on the new page seeing as Travel For Good will soon be no more.

Ok, drum roll is now good to go!...

Introducing…Peak Escapes! Our new name, that now represents our new direction.

What is this new direction you speak of? Glad you asked. But first, some background. From first-hand experience, there are 3 things we know for sure…

1. Travel can be transformative, awe inspiring and life-changing if you let it. It’s possible to leave on a trip and come back home literally a different person.

2. Happiness is collecting moments and memories, not stuff.

3. Connection to self, others and our natural world is the cure for almost all ills.

Our mission, and new direction, is to transform holidays into life-changing experiences. We do this in 3 ways…

- Unique, bucket list travel packages (whatever travel you have on your bucket list, we’d be honoured to help you make it happen)

- Transformative retreats & wellness travel (whether it’s yoga, personal development or spiritual enlightenment you’re looking for or just a break from the busyness of modern day life, we’ve got you covered)

- Group concierge service (from groups of family/friends to corporate groups or sporting teams, we take care of the countless details so you can focus on relaxing, conferencing or winning)

We’re still backed by TravelManagers (Australia’s most experienced travel network), and so still have access to the buying power, head office support, credentials and security they provide (ie TravelManagers Australia Pty Ltd trading as Peak Escapes).

We hope our new name and direction resonates but if it doesn’t, that’s ok too. For those it does (our fellow Escapees), we’d love you to continue on this mad adventure with us to see the world & change yours! Here's the link to our new Peak Escapes page: https://www.facebook.com/PeakEscapes/

Oh, and check out our schmicko new website: www.peakescapes.com.au!

In the background over the last 6 months we’ve been altering our course. While we love organising all holidays, we feel our vision is actually bigger than this and more aligned in a particular direction. And like my jeans from a decade ago, our current name (Travel For Good) doesn’t quite fit anymore!

So we’ve spent hours (or rather, weeks) with our web and strategy team behind the scenes (hi Linda, Dave & Tanya!) to come up with a new name, a schmicko new website and new branding that better reflects our vision.

Now I know you are all beyond excited to find out what the new name and direction is, and spending your days refreshing our page just waiting to find out.😜 Well, hang in there people, all shall be revealed soon! Finishing touches are being made to our magnificent (even if we do say so ourselves) website ready for a reveal in the coming days.

Travel Tip: Install Google Lens on your phone then as you take photos of landmarks on your trip, it'll automatically provide historical facts, ratings, hours of operation and more. It apparently also does other things like identifying plants and animals if you're into that!

Travel Tip: Mark you checked luggage as 'fragile'. It'll be less likely to receive a pummeling by baggage handlers and will be more likely to end up on top of the pile in the cargo hold, meaning it'll be one of the first out on the conveyor belt.

The view from the top of the Marina Bay Sands. A tip, don't pay the SGD$20 just to go to the viewing deck. Instead pay the SGD$20 to go to the bar area. The views are just as good and the $20 can be used as credit for food or a beverage. Singapore Sling anyone?

Travel Tip: Before you travel, call your credit card company and let them know where you're traveling too. If they see purchases on your card from businesses in Colombia, they are likely to cancel your card unless they know you are actually in Colombia.

Travel Tip: If you'd rather not get off the plane in Botswana into the middle of a civil war, or arrive in Vanuatu to find out a category 5 cyclone is on course for a direct hit, then think about registering online with Smartraveller before you head overseas.

This site is run by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and provides travel advice, a place to register your trip, and assistance for Aussies overseas. Not only can they then find you hiding under your bed in Botswana and under your mattress in the bath in Vanuatu, but they can also help with getting you the hell out of there!

Lucky for you, we have issues...

Issue 1: We have an addiction you should know about. We can’t live without new, awe-inspiring experiences. There appears to be no known cure (other than indulging in new, awe-inspiring experiences).

Issue 2: We’re not going to lie, we have opinions. Rather strong opinions. We believe in collecting experiences, not stuff. We believe in respect for our Earth and all humans and animals on it. We believe happiness means hanging out with those close to us often, living simply, getting out in nature and just plain having more fun than Donald Trump with unlimited access to Twitter!

Issue 3: We have obsessive compulsive tendencies. We live and breathe travel and have an insatiable need to strongly encourage others to partake in our addiction (see issue number 1).

So here’s why you’re lucky we have issues.
