Ally studies music theatre and dance at Centre Stage Performing Arts School in East Brunswick. She is a year 10 student at Brunswick Secondary College, and recently played the lead role of Rosemary in their school musical, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. Ally was the recipient of the 14 and under 16 Contemporary Vocal Aggregate Award at the Royal South Street eisteddfod this year, also winning the Stage Musical, Character and Contemporary Ballad sections.

One of the most important things that we can teach our young performers is how to deal with feedback. Feedback is always a gift, at the same time it is given from the perspective of the giver - their opinion. It is up to us as the receiver to say thank you, then decide what we do with it! Take it on board, or let it go... Take your power back!

I love this! Great teachers teach commitment.

We spend way too much time teaching people technique. Teaching people to be good at flute, or C++ or soccer. It's a waste because the fact is, most people can learn to be good at something, if they only choose...

Performer's Tip: I have noticed an interesting trend of late - artists minimising their accomplishments. STOP. It is ok to proud of what you are achieving and notice them. After all if you don't stop and say thank you for what is going well, why would life give you something even better!
