What is the Temporary Skills Shortage Visa - 482?

For this visa, applicants must meet the skill threshold for the nominated occupation. This may include having a relevant qualification or a certain number of years’ experience. Visa applicants must also have at least two years’ full time equivalent experience relevant to the nominated occupation. Some applicants will need to obtain a formal skills assessment before applying for the visa. And applicants must prove English language ability either through nationality, education or test.

The subclass 482 visa is available for up to four years, depending on the occupation. Occupations on the STSOL (Short Term Skilled Occupations List) allow visa grant for two years at a time. Applicants with occupations on the MLTSSL (Medium and Long Term Skills Shortage List) may obtain a visa for up to four years. 482 visa holders may have a pathway to permanent residence through the Employer Nomination Scheme.

What is the Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional Visa - 494?

Employers based in regional Australia may nominate workers to fill positions aligned with occupations on the relevant occupation lists.

Applicants must have at least three years’ full time equivalent experience in the nominated occupation and will need a formal skills assessment before applying for the visa. Applicants must prove English language ability either through nationality, education or test.

The subclass 494 visa is a five-year visa with a pathway to permanent residence available after working in the nominated position for three years.

What is the partner visa and what type is best for you?

The Partner Visa enables Australia permanent residents or citizens to sponsor their married or de facto partners or fiance to live in Australia permanently.

The visa process consists of two stages:

❇️ A temporary partner visa lasting two years (820 and 309) and
❇️ A permanent visa stage (801 and 100).

Applicants need to be sponsored by an Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen and then applicants need to provide evidence that the relationship is genuine and continuing.

What is the Permanent Residence (Skilled Regional) Visa - 191?

This visa allows people who have lived and worked in designated regional areas of Australia on an eligible visa (494 or 491), the subclass 191 visa offers permanent residence.

Some key features include:

✅ You do not need a sponsor or nominator
✅ You must hold an eligible visa and have complied with the conditions of that visa
✅ You must have lived for at least 3 years in a designated regional area
✅ You must have had a taxable income at or above a specific income threshold for at least 3 years while holding your eligible visa

No matter what path you choose for your business, these common criteria will apply:

✔️ Your business is lawfully operating in Australia
✔️ Your business has a satisfactory record of compliance with Australian immigration and workplace relations laws
✔️ The position is genuinely available within the business and aligns with an occupation on the SKILLS LIST- this is very important that you understand the lists!
✔️ The salary and employment conditions for the nominee are at least equivalent to those of an Australian in an equivalent role
✔️ The nominee meets the skill level for the occupation
✔️ The nominee meets the English language threshold

Are you of 'Good Character'? and what does this actually mean?

All visa applicants for Australia need to meet public interest criteria. This includes evidence showing that applicants are of good character and have no health issues which would be of a burden to Australia.

The government takes this very seriously so these items will require police clearance certificates and medical examinations.

What is the Prospective Marriage Visa (Subclass 300) and is it right for you?

The Prospective Marriage Visa 300 allows engaged partners to reunite in Australia. Marrying within nine months, you may then apply for the Partner visa.

💍 If the applicant and sponsor marry during the processing of the application for a Prospective Marriage visa, the application may be transferred to that of a Partner visa.

On 25 April 1915, 16,000 soldiers of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) landed at what is now called Anzac Cove on the Gallipoli peninsula in Turkey. Around 2,000 of them were killed or wounded that day.

Many Australians, then and now, saw the landing and the Australians’ deeds as a rite of passage for their fledgling country. This view of Gallipoli was fostered by Charles Bean, the official Australian war correspondent and later official historian.

On the first anniversary of the landing, Anzac Day was observed around Australia and wherever Australian soldiers were posted. Australians have commemorated the day ever since.
