As some of you may have heard in the media today, Carnival Corporation will sunset the P&O Cruises Australia brand and move the operations to Carnival Crusie Line.
This change will occur in March 2025 and Pacific Explorer will exit the fleet in February 2025.
Pacific Encounter & Pacific Adventure will be rebranded under the Carnival Cruise Line brand.
For those clients affected by these changes, I'll reach out to you as soon as more information is available.

This new structure will enable Carnival Corporation to continue serving Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific as a more streamlined and efficient organisation.

In 2018 I was lucky enough to witness the Aurora Borealis in Alaska. Today was another special day witnessing the Aurora Australis from my front garden. Both very special moments.

Last port on the trip. We arrived into the port of Tauranga yesterday and stayed overnight. A wander around town yesterday afternoon for some retail therapy, followed this morning with a hike up to the top of Mount Maunganui. It was worth the effort for the amazing views.

Celebrity Equinox - Ultimate Southern Caribbean - November 2023.
Stop 4 - Martinique
Fort-de-France, the capital of the French territory of Martinique, was the next stop on our voyage.
Martinique is an overseas region of France, which makes it the outmost region of the European Union.
Our first stop was the Church of Balata, a miniature replica of the famed Sacred Hert Basilica in Paris (Sacré Coeur). Located high in the hills above For-de-Frnce just as Sacré Coeur sits atop Paris's highest point.
We then travelled through the lush green landscape of the island to Saint-Pierre. Once the capital of Martinique it was destroyed in 1902 when Mt Pelée violently erupted forever freezing the town in time. Known as the Pompei of the Caribbean, the entire population except for 2 people perished in the eruption. Wondering the streets where remnants of ruined homes, historic monuments and crumbled buildings are all visible, with Mt Pelée in the background was quite haunting.

Celebrity Equinox - Ultimate Southern Caribbean - November 2023
Stop 3 - Saint Lucia
We last visited the volcanic paradise of Saint Lucia back in 1996, and we were very happy to see that it was definitely still an island paradise.
The Island's most famous landmark, The Pitons (two mountainous volcanic plugs) is a must-see when you visit this beautiful island.
We arrived at the Island's capital, Castries, which is bustling with people visiting the markets and stores. As we headed out the city we enjoyed a scenic drive along the west coast before arriving at our first stop of the day, Marigot Bay. This was a stunning stop for some photos overlooking the bay, which has been used in many Hollywood films.
We continued along the west coast for our second stop at the pretty fishing village of Anse La Raye.
After some time exploring the fishing village, we headed off with a few more scenic stops on our way to Villa Des Pitons for our creole lunch with the perfect view overlooking The Pitons.
The pitons have also been in several Hollywood movies including Superman II and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest.
After lunch, we headed to Coubaril Estate, the location of an 18th-century plantation for a tour of the historical estate and gardens.
The last stop of the day was Toraille Waterfall. Even with the crowds, it was still a very peaceful spot and the perfect way to end a fabulous day.

Celebrity Equinox - Ultimate Southern Caribbean - November 2023
Stop 2 - Barbados
Today saw us arriving into the capital of Barbados, Bridgetown.
As we drove away from the port we passed the street where superstar singer Rihanna was raised in her early years. they have now named the street Rihanna Drive.
Our first stop was the Barbados Tropical Gardens. It was interesting to see so many familiar plants that we are used to in Australia at the gardens.
The next stop was Gun Hill Signal Station which was erected in the first two decades of the nineteenth century for the dual purpose of defence and communication.

Celebrity Equinox - Ultimate Southern Caribbean - November 2023

Stop 1 - Antigua

The perfect tranquil Caribbean island with a population of approximately 97,000.
We arrived into the capital city of St John.
Joining a ship shore excursion we took a leisurely drive along the west coast of the island to take in the beautiful scenery.
The first stop was at Smith’s Estate which is a local home and still remains active in raising cattle and sheep.
We then headed to Claremont Farms, a private agricultural estate which is dedicated to growing the rare Antiguan black pineapple. We learnt about how the fruit is grown and also got to taste some. It was also officially confirmed that pineapple has no place on a pizza!!!
Our final stop of the tour was Weatherill’s Estate, a restored 17th century colonial mansion. Once home to one of Antigua’s most productive sugar mills, it has now been carefully restored and given a new life as an elegant boutique hotel and restaurant. The highlight of Weatherill’s Estate was definitely the functioning windmill which we were able to climb up to take in the stunning views.

Very chilled day today as the jet lag set in with the journey from the west to the east coast yesterday. We jumped in the Fort Lauderdale water taxi and did the 3 hour round trip of the waterways admiring the luxury yacht’s and mansions.
