We were extremely lucky to have the hosts of the Imposter Podcast attend this year's event and document the success of the annual tour 👍🇦🇺 great to have the Imposter Podcast team attend driving the venerable Mitsubishi Delica van across the Simpson. They received a lot of attention from the four wheel drive community, that is for sure 🤣

Attention all Adventure Riders and wannabe Toby Price's..... Please stop these record attempts crossing the Simpson Desert. It is becoming a joke and extremely unsafe for all track users. We recovered another crashed rider attempting a record run across the Simpson during the 2024 Frontline Safari. The crash victim was found not carrying an adequate first aid kit, he had no tools (from what we could see in his bags), no rescue plan, no insurance, no cash (we could not see anything whilst we were looking for his ID). Not only did this rider nearly kill himself after his high speed get off, but he was minutes away from meeting our lead sweep riders head on. Not to mention the innocent families meeting said rider, head on. If you want to set records or race, be a man, enter an actual race.
This latest record attempt also lead to negative responses and radio calls to us and our customers, by passing four wheel drivers crossing the Simpson, even though our riders and customers rode legally and sensibly. Motorcyclists are getting a bad name on the Simpson. One person can tarnish all riders attempting to cross the Simpson Desert. Both the SA and QLD Police have called us for statements. Both state Police agencies outlined the speed limits within their respective jurisdictions, it is really easy to mathematically obtain a relative average speed across each jurisdiction. These attempts also tie up emergency services when things do ultimately go wrong. For us, operationally, we recovered this man's bike removing a customer's position on the truck. We used our dedicated first aid, medical equipment and medication to treat this man, paid for and set aside for our customers. Not to mention the food and water we had to set aside for an extra mouth. We did not charge this man for his recovery. Be smart and think about other Simpson Desert users 👍🇭🇲

Eyre Creek during our 2018 crossing. Every year we have had rain just prior to the event. It has only provided us with a detour, once. The desert is absolutely stunning after rain. Don't read into the so called experts comments on Social Media. The water rarely hangs around enought to close roads for periods greater than 3 weeks. Last years huge downpour throughout the catchment was the exception. If you want to cross the Simpson. Plan it and get out there. Obtain your "FACTUALLY ACCURATE" updates from the Birdsville information Centre 07 45642000, the Birdsville Hotel page, the SA Desert Parks Bulliten

DO NOT ask for updates on Facebook Groups. These groups offer inaccurate, emotionally driven responses and often pushed by third and fourth hand Chinese whispers between mates, with mass hysteria often driving some of the comments and posts. DO THE RIGHT THING, plan ahead, do your due diligence. Seek accurate, informative updates from the government provided sites and the local businesses associated with the Simpson Desert. If you end up In trouble, the defence of "we got our updates from Facebook group x and they said it was ok to cross" will not support your cause if you get yourself and your team in trouble.
