Term 4 has been busy with clay. Check out these mini ‘tea light candle’ houses - looking so beautiful. Slowly drying out ready for firing & glazing 😍😍

We started off by applying a beautiful thick layer of acrylic mixed with impasto medium. The kids had fun creating ripples, waves and other textures using palette knives. (Using about 5 times the amount of the medium than was anticipated.. but it was worth it!)
Next the whale shark or ray was painted, striped & spotted with a layer of white splatters added too (always fun 😆)
Next (the best bit) colours were added to the water to emphasise the textures, some adding white just to the tips of the bumps to look foamy & ‘oceany’!
Really enjoyed watching these come together - and hopefully the kids learnt lots of new tricks along the way 👏👏

We are running this class THURS (11 July) 10-12 for over 10 yr olds.

One of our very own crew is taking over the walls at Bay Blue ❤️

It has been a while since we have had a showcase, and we are so excited to be showing off one of the bay blue family ❤️

Grace Morgan is an amazing talent and we can't wait to see what she has in store for us.

Swing by Tuesday evening 4 - 6pm for a casual opening. Light nibbles provided, and of course, tea and coffee will be available.

Some of the groups have been making fossils out of clay 🙌🙌🙌
Instead of building up the clay we took it away (subtractive sculpture) using some interesting & fun carving tools.
I love how they have turned out with some paint rubbed into the grooves 👌👌👌
