That’s a wrap - We had 3 great days at the DesignBUILD Expo in Melbourne. Thanks to our partner Haver & Boecker OHG for their knowledge and presentations and to all of the visitors we had to our stand throughout the expo.

Flicking through the Architecture & Design magazine and came across this very cool read.
We have attached and article on Architectus' use of architecture, design and sustainability for 28 school across Victoria. These sustainable schools will aim to be ready by 2020 to educate over 15,000 students.
What is more sustainable than stainless steel wire :) ? Let us know if we can help!

The Victorian government has announced that 28 new schools will be built to accommodate more than 15,000 students. Architectus, in association with K2LD and DesignInc are behind the design of 10 of these new schools for 2020.

Check out this project! You will find this vibrant masterpiece in Dutton Lane, Cabramatta
Hanging proudly and robustly above Dutton Lane, the unique installation encompasses the diverse cultural heritage of the region through a bespoke assembly of components.
Strudyna.com.au provided the design detail along with all Arcus Wire Group Stainless Steel Wire Cable Assemblies and Cross Clamps.
The link below also provides a very clever time lapse on the installation and the work that went into it from all the involved teams.
Thanks to Fairfield City Council Electrolight (Designer) and Engineering for the Engineering, Construction, And Installation of this Vibrant Masterpiece. Again teamwork making the dream work.

Funny Functional Friday
Fridays are meant to be fun, so we have decided to put our own spin on Funday Friday Functional and Architectural funnies! Obviously, we had to start with this notorious guy!
#1 Leaning Tower of Pisa.
The Tower of Pisa as it was once called, is a freestanding bell tower associated with the Cathedral of Pisa in Italy. Situated behind the cathedral, when it was being constructed way back in the late 1100’s, the tower started to tilt. This was due to a combination of inadequate foundations and the soft, unsuitable ground. This tilt became progressively worse during construction and the builders attempted to correct the problem. But this wasn't enough. Over the following centuries, The Tower has continued to sink at about 1mm a year.

Suvarnabhumi Airport, also known as International Airport, is one of two international airports serving Bangkok, Thailand. Opened in 2006, this project is one of the most important delivered by Strudyna and is still one of the largest cables truss glass facades on the planet.
With all of the usual engineering and manufacturing challenges associated with any major construction project to overcome, Strudyna also undertook the challenge to design hundreds of new products. We then delivered thousands of these new products, assembled and on time.

Thanks to Hamilton Marino for inviting Strudyna.com.au to help create a distinctive aesthetic façade for the ICONIC apartment and commercial development within the CHUBB Heritage building.
"By Incorporating climbing trellis cables into a buildings design like they have at the ICONIC it enables a living vertical garden to be formed that creates a distinctive aesthetic through the use of greenery and also contributes towards sustainable design. – We hope to return in a few month’s time to see the vegetation rising up the building and softening the façade."

The new Perth Stadium had its official opening to the public on Sunday 21st of January and its first sporting event on Sunday 28th Jan the one day international cricket attended by more than 53 thousand fans, with many of those walking under and around the Arbour we constructed.

One of our Perth based installers Nic from took a few photos of the finished product whilst he was there at the venue on the open day.
