The island nation’s unique blend of rich cultural heritage, breathtaking beaches, and lush tea plantations has propelled it to the top spot, rising from fourth place in 2024. This recognition highlights Sri Lanka’s growing appeal among

independent adventurers.




The report also notes a shift in solo traveler demographics, with the average age increasing from 36 to 39 post-pandemic, signaling a more mature market for adventure tourism. This aligns with a surge in “social travel,” which facilitated over 160,000 new connections globally, including 50,000 in 2024 alone.
