We are fortunate to have the Great Victorian Rail Trail on our doorstep…. It starts and/or finishes in our beautiful Mansfield. You can hire an e-bike & ride a section, or choose a bit to walk. A favourite is from the Bonnie Doon bridge around to the community centre - checkout the little opp shop, maybe have a bbq here that is pre-dropped off & kids get to play on the playground…..then wonder back. Relaxing, scenic, fully accessible for prams, primary school aged bikers, horses, wheel chairs & even golf carts! This a a safe recommended walk & cheap day out with the fam. BYO esky next time you visit Mansfield and put this day on your bucket list! …you can also take your esky to the for another great outdoor adventure that won’t break the budget! Or enjoy one of the many eateries in Bonnie Doon or Mansfield.

There are some great walks to introduce children to bushwalking…. Not challenging or too long, with some interesting sights such as this huge old gum tree along the way. Creating memories with locals and visitors. Every day is a great day in the bush!

This small native mammal lives on Mt Stirling…. And is very comfortable living inside the huts in winter! Antechinus can sometimes be mistaken for mice, but not if you find one on the mountain.
