Happy New Year from Camellia Cottage.
We have given the verandah a fresh coat of paint - with a lot of help from our friends!
While in the Hunter, we also managed to slip in some visits to some cellar doors. As always, Hart & Hunter nsw, hosted a fabulous tasting. We also highly recommend a visit to Briar Ridge Vineyard and Carillion Wines.
To our guests, thank you for choosing Camellia Cottage, and we hope you enjoy some good times with friends and family relaxing on the verandah.

While we have been in lockdown, a new guest has surreptitiously moved in to Camellia Cottage - much to our delight! Apparently Blue-tongued Lizards are quite territorial, so we hope he/she stays around for awhile. Like the French, they enjoy eating snails.
So, if you are staying at the Cottage, keep an eye out, and watch where you are walking. As you know, they are completely harmless.
We are looking forward to welcoming our human guests back to Camellia Cottage!

Noticed this visitor at Camellia Cottage today. Not often I see a blue butterfly. Beautiful. ❤️

Cessnock Council has upgraded the walking path on Convent Hill. So if you are staying at Camellia Cottage and in need of a short walk, this is for you! Turn right out of the Cottage, then right onto King Street and keep walking right to the end and you will see the stairs pictured. Take the path to the left of the stairs. It's a loop, so will bring you back to this same point. Along the way are exercise stations, as well as a fantastic playground equipped with barbecues and seating. Enjoy your walk! 😀

Thank you to all our wonderful guests who have been staying at the Cottage. It's been so busy that I had to pop up mid-week from Sydney to do some garden maintenance. Such a pleasure to see that the Camellias are still doing their thing.
While I was there, a pair of Yellow-Tailed Black Cockatoos dropped in. ❤
