We are into our next large project. This one a 3-1/2 kilometer, 200mm welded poly mainline project in circular head.
Its takes good loader tractor operators to quickly and efficiently unload 20 metre packs of pipe with a couple of very long trucks lined up on this narrow road .
We were in good hands with Kris Davis & his Johnnies . #tasmaniairrigation #johndeere
You get a lot of early starts in this game. I love watching a tassie sunrise, Its the best time of the day. #piercecp600abetterpivot

Fridays can often not go to plan but when its friday the 13th there is a fair chance something will slow your planned day.
De containering a pivot . Sometimes they come ( slide ) easy sometimes not . Yesterdays containers were a definate not. Its hard work for machinery when your pulling out 17 tonnes of steel x 2 out of the cans on to wet ground . Traction can be a problem . Legerwood contractors J & M Williams little dozer got the job done with a bit of help from the excavator to keep the dozers front down. It worked
Fun times . 👍
I generally enjoy the cold weather but starting and testing travelling irrigation systems in yesterdays weather was bloody cold work .❄️❄️. Vid snowy yesterday afternoon between Launceston and Scottsdale . #tasmania . #instatasmania #discovertasmania
We are pasture irrigation system specialists, with over 30 years of practical design experience.
Here we are starting up a 32 hectare fully automatic 50 x 50 m fixed, 130 sprinkler system on great pasture country . The land shape is unsuitable for a cost effective centre pivot system and our client had been irrigating for years with travelling irrigators
Once set up this system requires almost zero labour. So no more labour required to move bike shift sprinklers, wearing out bikes , sore worn out shoulders or moving travelling irrigators night and day .
This type of automatic system, which we developed in Tasmania, is becoming more and more a popular irrigation option due to the development and lower capital cost of remote wireless valve automation systems, variable speed drives for electric motors and long throw sprinklers.
When you consider the increasing cost of reliable labour and also the inefficiencies and ongoing replacement and maintanence costs of lateral sprinklers and/or K line type systems which traditionally have been used to irrigate pasture on odd shaped or hilly country, this system is definatly worth considering.

Not really irrigation but its an impressive and scary 😱amount of water roaring down the south esk at the 1st basin heading down river to #Launceston . Its still rising hopefully the city is safe. One in a Hundred year flood they say. Stay safe everyone
This is a very big rain event . Ive allready had sunday night phone calls from concerned farmers considering moving pumps as their river is rising higher and faster then the biggest flood they remember. Its good , "the rains" but maybe easing off soon in the North and East thanks "Hughie" that would be nice. Stay dry and safe. 👍
