HOORAY!
WE DID IT!
The International Tour Guide Day in Melbourne city went by a lot of success, our PTGAA 24 One- Hour Free City Tours were booked just immediately after posting ad and 240 local tourists came to enjoy the magic and attractiveness of our beloved Melbourne.
There were three directions of tours: Lanes and Arcades, Riverside walk and Significant places.
The point of this tour for me, as a guide, was, that most of guests were locals and could add their own experience and knowledge to excursion!
Special thanks to #TImeoutfedsqure TIMEOUT cafe for spoiling PTGAA guides with coffee.
We should definitely use the opportunity to catch up again, meeting old and new friends during the tours.
What are your ideas about next event like this?
This week PTGAA hold a refreshment PD Day in Shrine of Remembrance.
Upon arrival all Tourguides got their badges and listened to responsible managers of Shrine, got morning coffee and then went for a tour.
This time all guides acted like guests and Dominic told us a very interesting story about the ceremony of opening this memorial back to last century. He also explained the mechanism of famous RAY OF LIGHT.
We went down to see the statue โFather and Sonโ and were told about a big secret box there. Guides also stepped up to balcony and enjoyed ... foggy view of the city, with new buildings, which still cannot cast a shadow to the Memorial. Also weโre advised about eternal flame at front square, which reminds us the 2 WW.
After returning to visitor centre all participants were given leaflets with new regulations for conducting tours through Shrine of Remembrance. All cannot wait until we will lead our beloved tourists again!
Thank you, PD sub-committee of PTGAA for this experience and opportunity to visit this magnificent Melbourne site again.
