For Aussies looking for a completely different experience during the most wonderful time of the year, the Christmas markets of Europe are a must 🎅

Christmas markets typically feature open-air stalls selling gifts, seasonal treats and hot beverages. From Brussels to Budapest, they're designed to bring people together in a period that is traditionally short on daylight hours ❄️

If a white Christmas in Europe is on the cards for you in the not so distant future, here are a few of our favourites! 🎄

1. Christkindlmarkt - Vienna, Austria
2. Marché de Noël - Strasbourg, France
3. Striezelmarkt - Dresden, Germany
4. Rynek Główny Christmas Market - Krakow, Poland
5. Wenceslas Square Christmas Market - Prague, Czech Republic

Can't get enough of the world of ? 😍

If you want to sample 'The Ton' for yourself, the good news is that the world-famous series is filmed all throughout the British city of Bath 📽️

Want to do something different during your summer holiday in Europe? Don't miss the Midsummer Festival! 🌻

Also known as the Summer Solstice, Midsummer is a traditional celebration that usually happens around June 21st in the Northern Hemisphere, particularly in Scandinavian and Baltic nations 🌍

Between feasts, bonfires and other festivities, the most iconic Midsummer tradition is dancing around a maypole, especially in Sweden💃🏻

Do you identify as a bit of a nature lover? Then the mighty Pailon del Diablo - meaning The Devil's Cauldron in English - will surely blow your mind 🙌

Located high up in the Andes Mountains of Ecuador, it's fast becoming one of the most popular attractions found anywhere in South America 🌎

Despite its sinister moniker, Pailon del Diablo is actually comprised of three separate waterfalls, with the largest being over 80 metres in height 🫣

The good news? Thanks to the multiple view points, visitors don't actually have to conquer all the stairs to get a decent shot 📷

Once you've worked out how to successfully cross the street, Ho Chi Minh City is your oyster 💪

If you've got spare time in Vietnam's biggest city, here's some of our favourite things to do 🗺️

1. Cafe Apartment. Spanning nine floors, this unique building blends the old world and the new and has become a bit of a local icon.

2. Take a food tour. Ho Chi Minh City is enormous, and local guides will help hungry travellers discover hidden gems.

3. War Museum. This is an essential place to visit if you want to learn more about Vietnam's history and struggles.

4. Local architecture. Saigon Central Post Office, Tan Dinh Church, Saigon Opera House and Notre-Dame are a good start.

5. Golden Dragon Theatre. Water puppetry has been celebrated in Vietnamese culture for 1000+ years.

6. Ben Thanh Market. Food, clothes, and souvenirs can be found here, but navigating the maze is half the fun.

7. Saigon Skydeck. If you want to get a scope of how big Ho Chi Minh City really is, then this is the place to be.

A lot has changed in Morocco in the last 1000 years, but you wouldn't think so during a visit to the iconic Chouara Tannery 👜

Situated in the historic city of Fez, Chouara Tannery is one of the oldest in the world. As a living and breathing monument to Morocco's artisanal history, the techniques used here have been passed down for generations 🎨

If you can stand the challenging odours, the reward for visitors is getting a bird's eye view of the unique colours, textures and processes that go into bringing Moroccan leather to life 📷

While taking a dip at the thermal baths or cruising down the Danube are must-do activities on a trip to Budapest, you can't miss a night out at one of the city's iconic ruin bars 🍷

Typically located in abandoned buildings or unused outdoor spaces, creative entrepreneurs have transformed them into quirky hangouts since the early 2000s, breathing new life into the historic Jewish Quarter 🎨

Characterised by their eclectic and bohemian atmosphere, visitors can find a mish mash of different design elements, including graffiti-covered walls, retro furniture, fairy lights, and quirky ornaments 🔮

Did you know that buildings on the stunning Greek Island of Mykonos stick to a historical colour code? 🎨

Doors and windows are painted blue, green or red, while the exterior of a property is painted white 🖌️

The colours of the doors and windows used to indicate your profession - sailors were blue, farmers stuck to green and everyone else quite literally painted the town red 😍

As a nod to this tradition, this palette is now evident on the island's colourful fishing boats 😉

You've probably familiar with Giraffe Manor in Africa - think a luxury mansion where the local giraffes are welcome to stick their heads through a window, and join you for high tea ☕

While an overnight stay here can cost upwards of AU $4000 per night, did you know that day guests are welcome to visit the Nairobi Giraffe Centre in the same complex for under $20? 🤩

As the brainchild of the African Fund For Endangered Wildlife, the Nairobi Giraffe Centre was founded in 1979. At the time, it was designed to provide a home for injured or ill giraffes that were increasingly being displaced from their habitat in Western Kenya 🥹

Today, more than 300 giraffes have been released back to various national parks across Kenya. What's more, is that visitors can get up close and personal with these gentle giants knowing they're doing it ethically 🥰

If you've been lucky enough to travel to India, you'll know two things: Jaipur is pink, and Jodhpur is Blue. But what if there were exceptions to this rule? 🤔

Jaipur became known as “The Pink City” when Maharaja Ram Singh had most of the buildings painted pink - the colour of hospitality - in preparation for a visit by Britain's Queen Victoria in 1876 🩷

However, some areas retained a different palette, such as the Shri Niwas (Blue Hall) of Jaipur City Palace. Home to the Royal Family, the blue hues are a nod to the local blue glaze pottery popular in India during the 17th century 🏺

While Uluru has long been considered as the heart of Australia, too many people make the mistake of believing that the Red Centre has little more to offer 🦘

But is that actually true? Well, we're SO glad you asked! 💁‍♀️

If this is a destination you're yet to tick off your bucket list, other experiences to discover here include the following 👇🏻

1. Kata Tjuta, formerly known as The Olgas, means 'many heads'. Bigger, wider and taller than Uluru, Kata Tjuta is a spectacular collection of 36 enormous rocks and a great place to take a stroll during your time here.

2. Curious about Indigenous culture but also a passionate foodie? Don't miss the Bush Food Experience, where visitors can learn more about Indigenous bush tucker before participating in a cooking experience.

3. Taking a camel ride has long been one of the most popular things to do when visiting Uluru. If that's not your thing, then a visit to the Uluru Camel Farm is still worthwhile to meet the locals and explore the homestead.

4. Covering more than seven football fields, artist Bruce Munro created the Field of Light to invite visitors into his fantasy garden of 50,000 electric blooms. With Uluru looming in the background, it's a sight not to be missed.

5. For the creatives and the curious, Maraku Arts Dot Painting Workshop is an uplifting experience will open your eyes to traditional Anangu culture while creating your own story on canvas.

While we'll give bonus points to helicopter rides, the Sounds of Silence dining experience and even skydiving, is there anything else we missed? 🤔

Anyone who has visited Barcelona knows one thing: it's Gaudi's world, and we're all just his guests ✨

Born in 1852, architect Antoni Gaudi left his mark on the city in more ways than one. While the still unfinished Sagrada Família is arguably the most famous, Barcelona is actually home to 12 different Gaudi structures 🤯

His designs are mostly noted for their use of curves and colour, making them incredibly popular tourist destinations in the 21st century. How many have you been to? 📸

Once the private hunting ground of the Maharajah of Jaipur, today Ranthambore National Park is one of the only places left in the world to see tigers in the wild 🐅

Within Ranthambore's expansive boundaries, tigers reign supreme alongside over 300 other species of birds and animals, including leopards, hyenas, jackals, sloth bears and sambal deer 👑

Located three hours away from Jaipur, be sure to save this destination for your bucket list trip to India 🌏

The Batu Caves are a series of complex of limestone grottoes in Malaysia that attract millions of tourists and Tamil Hindu pilgrims every year - and that was BEFORE they got a makeover 🥳

In 2018, the ascent to the caves controversially received a rainbow coat of paint. Designed to attract more tourists, the update was beloved by some, but loathed by others 🧐

As the debate continutes to rage on in Malaysia, what do you make of the new stairs? 🌈

This isn't the jungles of Brazil or the rainforests of Far North Queensland. Believe it or not, this is South Africa 🌍

Renowned for its unique yet breathtaking landscapes, the Panorama Route is a scenic drive located in the Mpumalanga province 😍

For around six at the end of each year, the centre of New Zealand's epic South Island bursts into colour 🪻

Purple, pink, blue and yellow lupins sprout up along lakes and in riverbeds in Mackenzie Country, making the already-stunning views even more incredible. Make no mistake though, lupins are not actually native to New Zealand 🫢

Despite being classed as an invasive w**d, there's no denying their beauty and their status as an ideal background for photos 📸

Known for it's colourful costumes, samba dancing, grand parades, and food festivals, Rio's annual Carnival might just be the biggest party found anywhere in the world 💃

Carnival celebrations go all the way back to the 1650s, when the Portugese colonised Brazil and brought their Catholic beliefs with them 🌎

In turn, this week long festival is traditionally held in the period leading up to Lent, to honor the spirit of overindulgence 😉

05/03/2024

Tucked away in a tiny backstreet of Covent Garden, Neal's Yard is regarded as one of the most interesting pockets of London.

Neal’s Yard owes its name to Thomas Neale, who in 1690 received a piece of land from William III and created the Seven Dials area in which it is situated. By the mid 1970s, Neal’s Yard was a dark, derelict yard home to a handful of warehouses.

That all changes in 1976, when Nicholas Saunders started the Whole Food Warehouse, and his entrepreneurial skills turned this neglected space into the thriving, colourful community.

Today, the shops, cafes and vibrant architechture continues to attract locals and visitors alike, or anyone seeking refuge from the big city.

Just two hours away from Sydney by air, Lord Howe Island is arguably our version of Jurassic Park (minus the T-Rex) 😉

Characterised by sandy beaches, soaring peaks, subtropical forests and clear waters, the island is of volcanic origin, which gives it it's distinct look and feel 🌴

Home to unique plants and animals, such as the world's most southerly true coral reef, Lord Howe has long been regarded as a natural wonderland for those curious enough to seek out an adventure in this part of Australia 🐠
