All school buses in rural and regional NSW are fitted with seatbelts. Always wear your seatbelt, or remind your child to wear their seatbelt, to keep safe on the bus.

18/02/2025

🚌 It's Bus Safety Week, so let's set the record straight once and for all 🗣️

If a bus has seatbelts, they're not optional - legally you must wear it if it's there ✅

Wearing your seatbelt properly could save your life in a crash as it slows you down at the same rate as the bus 🚍

Some bus stops in rural and regional NSW do not have signs or other infrastructure. Take extra care when driving in these areas.

Be aware of children crossing or about to cross the road and slow down to 40km/h when bus lights flash.

18/02/2025

Monday 17 – Sunday 23 February 2025 is Bus Safety Week!

Buses are large, heavy vehicles. They can’t stop quickly and have large blind spots than other vehicles.

Whether you’re out walking, riding or driving, Be Bus Aware.

🚸 Back to School Reminder! 🚦

With all students returning to school, it's a great time to remember road safety! Slow down to 40km/h when bus lights are flashing and be extra mindful of children around schools and bus stops.

🚍 Flashing lights on buses? That means kids are getting on or off—slow down to 40km/h when passing or overtaking.

✅ Follow school zone speed limits
✅ Watch for children near bus stops & crossings
✅ Give way when buses merge back into traffic

Exciting News for Student Travel! 🚍✨
Dear Parents and Carers,

We’re excited to introduce the new Tap on Tap off SCB Smart Cards, replacing the current SSTS bus passes for students traveling on the Sapphire Coast Buslines (SCB) network. This change will make travel more convenient, sustainable, and efficient for everyone!

Here’s what you need to know:

🗓 Timeline
SCB Smart Cards will be distributed to students at their schools starting 20th February.
Students must start tapping on and off the bus with their card from 3rd March.
All non SSTS Travel will remain free on dedicated school buses until 28th February.

🌟 Key Benefits
One Card, All of School: Students will keep the same card from K–12, reducing waste.
Easy Contactless Travel: The card works across the SCB network. Parents can use the optional Transport Me app to top up the card for additional travel.
Peace of Mind: The app also allows parents to track buses.

More information on the App and the user guide can be found here.

Just confirming, our school bus network will be back up and running this Friday 31st January, this is inline with the State Government’s gazetted school days for 2025.

Please note this also means our regular passenger services return to full timetable not school holiday schedules.

Sapphire Coast Buslines, Our Story

Sapphire Coast Buslines is a family business owned by Jamie and Anton Klemm, who grew up in Jindabyne and spent many years traveling around Australia and overseas before settling on the Sapphire Coast.

Jamie and Anton have three young children and are involved in and support a vast range of community and business activities, organisations, events and initiatives. They selected the name ‘Sapphire Coast Buslines’ to reiterate their firm commitment to the region.

“Our business will remain a family-owned business in this region for a long time to come. We are continually looking at ways to expand and grow and offer more services to the local community,”
