What is the strangest thing you have ever eaten on holidays?
This tall roti tissue in Malaysia was pretty impressive and tasted good too!
Sometimes the hygiene standards are enough to make you say no thanks in some countries.
Or just the way they present meat, with flies and not refrigerated, although I’m sure once cooked it would be fine. Well that’s what I tell myself anyhow.
Can’t bring myself to try 1000 year eggs or Pluit, have you?

*Hotel review*
So where does a travel agent stay when visiting Krabi, Thailand?
I rate this hotel quite highly, why?

Check out the two gorgeous pools, one is resort style with a beach area and swim up bar. The other is a roof top pool for all day sunshine.

Breakfast offers a number of options and is set up in their cafe. Those in rooms with plunge pools can also get the popular floating breakfasts.

The location is great, just off the main road in Ao Nang, a short stroll to many restaurants, shops and the beach.

With 6 of us, we got two rooms that interconnected with an internal door. Rooms were modern and spacious with a balcony overlooking the pool.

The hotel although probably considered small or boutique still runs daily activities like rock climbing (up the side of the building), boxing, aerobics and kids club. They also have resident tortoises a day spa and tour desk.

It’s compact but made a great impact. Would I stay here again? Yes certainly! Would a recommend to my clients and friends 100%.

A little bit gutted to hear that Virgin Voyages will not be home porting in Melbourne for the 24/25 cruise season as planned. I’ve been a huge advocate of theirs as the resilient lady ship is amazing!
If your booking has been affected I have sent you an email with options.
I still have my own short cruise coming up on her before she sails back to the other side of the world, so I’ll be posting a few more Virgin posts before they leave 😢

Some people worry about putting on weight on a Cruise because of the abundance of food.
For the two days I was onboard Pacific Explorer recently I did around 10,000 steps a day without even trying.
As opposed to my normal activity 😬
My main tips for maintaining weight whilst cruising without denying any good food are-
1/ take the stairs
2/ don’t eat bread just everything else
3/ dance the night away 😍

Are they close to needing to be renewed?
To travel to the majority of places you need 6 months validity remaining on your passport.
This July, the prices of passports are set to rise, so if you want to beat the significant price rise, renew now and you’ll be good for another 10 years on an adult passport. 👌

We stayed in
Located in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

Why Here?
Like in most hotels we stay in, we need something to accommodate 6 people that is reasonably priced and has facilities.
Lanna Oriental has some great family and group rooms. The room we stayed in was quite different to anywhere we have ever stayed before. It was a group room that slept 12! It was laid out a little like a dorm with all beds being bunk beds but some king and some single. All within screened areas for privacy. There was also a large bathroom with, 2 x shower stalls and 2 X toilet stalls. There was a small kitchenette and lounge area. Located in the old town (just!), above a lovely bar/ restaurant and a short walk to anything central, including the night market. It has a roof top pool and buffet breakfast.
Would I stay here again, yes!
Did we love Chiang Mai, yes!
