TRAVELLING TO UK ENTRY REQUIREMENTS CHANGE FROM 08 JANUARY, 2025.

UK to introduce an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) effective from 8‍ January‍ 2025‌, Australian and New Zealand passport holders will need to apply for an ETA to travel to the UK or just transiting through the UK. Expect to pay approx AUD20.
The permit will allow multiple visits for stays up to‌ 6‍ months and is valid for‌ 2‍ years or until the holder's passport expires. Visit the United Kingdom Government website for more information for more information.

Update on new security issues for Dubai just in
With immediate effect, passengers travelling on flights departing from or transiting through Dubai International Airport (DXB) will not be allowed to carry pagers or walkie-talkies in their checked and cabin baggage. This is to comply with new DXB requirements.

Any of such items found in passengers’ checked or cabin baggage will be confiscated by the authorities.

Once again this would be useful information for anyone you know who likes to make their own bookings. Please feel free to share this information.

Checked in and now on board Queen Elizabeth Voyage to Tassie. Looking forward to the next 7nts. Starting from the private transfer from Sydney airport to Sydney's International cruise terminal to check in wa quick and efficient. . Once on board up to deck 9 for late lunch before adjourning to the pool deck for some birthday celebrations. BTW Andrews car parking at Brisbane airport a bargain. Shuttle to the airport seamless.
It's now 15 minutes before muster and lifeboat drill.

A huge Happy New Year to you all. I read recently in our trade press that this year is going to be a busy one... So what can we expect. Firstly the airlines are now looking at increased frequency this year which usually means more space availability and hopefully back to more reasonable fares. Take a look at Singapore Airlines in particular.

There are major discounts on offer for River cruises across a number of Tour companies. You will begin to see these advertised for under $7000K with economy airfares included. Of course these incredible rates come with strict conditions, often require full prepayment, and of course always read the booking terms and conditions for their cancellation and refund policies.

But what I urge you remember it seems nothing is the same as it used to be. If you travelled pre Covid and had a special restaurant in London, or boutique hotel in New York, chances are its not there anymore.

If you have ever been to Venice or plan a trip effective from mid January, there is a fee of approx 8 Euro for the day. How do you pay for it.... It is expected there will be an online option available. So watch this space.

If you have booked accommodation this day entry fee will not apply.
