You never know what you will find in the Flinders Ranges. The colours, terrain and landscapes are so incredibly diverse. Within our station the landscapes vary from stunning hills with creeks and huge red gums, to pine forrest, to purple and red stirrup iron hills, and amazing rock formations. The power of nature is all around you. This is a must see part of our state. There is nothing like it. Book your next holiday in the Flinders Ranges.

Horseshoe Top-End, Flinders Ranges
Our grandkids have had lots of fun this weekend! They are 6th generation Connell kids to have roamed these hills.

What a fabulous long weekend at Holowiliena Station with lots of kids outside and offline!
We've seen interesting things happen when kids are given the chance to put their phones away for a few days: they stand taller, make more eye contact, talk more freely and regain their curiosity. With the added bonus of a campfire (which, in our opinion, has potential to bring out the best in everyone), young people have the freedom to be themselves again.

At Three Creeks Station She was quietly resting near the Shepherds Hut last month. I watched her and her joey through the glass door for a while. When she heard me, she got her baby back into her pouch but was in no hurry to move away.

Spear Creek Holiday Park Our Walking trails We have Two main hiking trails on Spear Creek Station. 🧭 SPEAR CREEK TRAIL (5km, 2 hrs) Approximately 5km long and the easier walk of the two. A trail up through the valley heading north through the ranges. On this walk you’ll follow the cast iron water line that was laid in 1865 supplying water to Port Augusta from Woolundunga spring. You’ll also find huge rock slides, historic caves and stromatolites (the oldest fossils on earth) on this trail. 🧭 DEEP CREEK TRAIL (7km, 5hrs) Approximately 7km long and not for the faint hearted. This walk can get tough but is by far the most picturesque. Walk up through deep gorges lined with native cypress pine trees into the Southern Flinders Ranges. On this trail you’ll experience views out over the upper Spencer Gulf. A great picnic spot at the summit on the Quartz rocks we like to call “Crystal falls”.
