His backkk!! Let us introduce to Romeo…we always knows it’s him because he is the only Leopard Whipray without the usual Leopard pattern on his back.

If you believe in the legends then he is the child of 2 star-crossed lovers (an estuary ray and a leopard ray)…who secretly mated to conceive this one of a kind

But it’s more like that Romeos unique phenotype (of being coloured like an estuary ray) is due to genetic mutation BUT as every good tour guide knows “don’t let facts get in the way of a good story”

We never know when we’re gonna get to see Romeo. Our Rays move around everyday and with 65km of the waterways to explore, they can go for a good walkabout. Thankfully with 4yrs of kayaking these branches of the Everglades, we’ve got some regular pockets & sanctuaries we know they love to hang out in
