It’s a very common question.. How do you put peaches, strawberries in the wine to make it taste like the fruit? It’s just a flavour profile. It’s because the yeast converts the sugars in grape juice into alcohol, unlocking chemical compounds that are shared by other fruits. Yes and people ask if Roses are in Rosè.. no there are no Roses in Rosè nor is it a mix of red and white grapes. There’s no such thing as a silly question.. Some interesting facts you may not know.. My favourite is the fact that we invented the CASK wine! Pretty sure we all have fond memories created with a cask! 1. 65 Wine Regions! (Umm maybe we could operate in all 65 one day 🤪 something to aspire to!) 2. We produce 130 Grape varieties in Australia and there are 10,000 varieties in the world! 3. We are the smart fellas who invented the cask wine, gee whizz we’re not all good looks! 4. Shiraz is the most popular red variety and 1/4 of grapes we produce are Shiraz 🍷 5. Most popular and my favourite white is the big bold Chardonnay! We are just so good at producing a very fine drop! 6. We have some of the oldest commercial vineyards in the world! I know.. surprising for such a young country! Over 170 years old (more on my next history reel) 7. There’s approx 2,500 wineries in Australia.. lucky us! On the Mornington Peninsula we have approx 60 wineries 🥰🍇 Thanks for watching & reading.
