After having to cancel last couple of weekends due to weather was nice to get back out today. Beautiful start to the day with the Hippolytes basking in the sun . Unfortunately the fishing was slow with only the 1 bluefin he was at least a bigger schoolie . From what we heard there was only 1 other blue caught so we should be grateful

Mixed weekend slow day yesterday with only 2 tuna both of which we lost. Today 20 mins after starting had birthday boy James catch his first bluefin . Pretty steady for next 2 hours with another 7 caught and released including a 4 way hookup in Munroe which included James mum Alison catching her first Bluefin and my daughter who was along for the ride catching her first one also, slowed a bit after that with another 3 before pulling pin to head in early

Last charter in Vanuatu yesterday and the weather was reasonable for a change. Skipper decided to head for a different FAD and about 30 mins after we started trolling a reel was screaming and after a short fight i had landed a big bull Mahi Mahi.
We got to the FAD and the action was full on sharks , Mahi Mahi jumping, yelowfin tuna. We managed to land 7 Mahi Mahi as well as drop a few others, a few small yellowfin tuna and some rainbow runners. After we had all caught a few decision was made to chase a Marlin after about 2 hours hear a reel screaming and skipper yelling MARLIN MARLIN get in the chair. I was happy to jump in the chair (after 20 mins was regretting that LOL) anyway we got my first ever blue Marlin (which we released) a short time later hooked another but he dropped the hook after a big run.
Thanks to Dick , Art and Jeremy from Crusoe Fishing Adventures for a day we’ll never forget.
The Mahi was beautifully cooked by a local restaurant and washed down by a Tusker

Weather still very windy Tried something new yesterday ,had a half day casting poppers and stickbaits in the harbour wIth gun sports fishing, is that hard work we are all a bit sore today 😀 we managed a bluefin trevally , had a big bull mahi mahi follow a popper and then hooked a wahoo that had an awesome run before biting us off .Mav the skipper was great even staying out a bit overtime to try and get us some fish.

Yesterday had the shoe on the other foot , Been planning a fishing holiday with mates to Vanuatu for quite a few years. Arrived late last week and found out weather was no good for our booked charters with Crusoe Fishing Adventures early in week plans were all rejigged and we headed out today . We had used the time early in week to do some other activities.and whilst shopping in Port Vila we decided to all buy tropical themed “team shirts”😂 conditions were still bit rough but not to bad trolled out to FAD and about 30 mins after arriving the sound of a reel screeming and call of wahoo from crew or shark . Turned out to be the later a big bronze whaler. That was it for the day rest of the day was dead. Had great time with the crew and it has been agreed by the crew and us the team shirts were bad luck and won’t be worn when we head out again in a few days time.
