EDIT: nearly filled the back of the land-cruiser ๐Ÿคฆ

I'm tired of seeing country degraded by rubbish.๐Ÿ˜‘

It seems that:

When it's a National Park, it's cared for! ๐ŸŒฒ

When it a site of cultural importance, it's cared for! ๐ŸŒ„

When it's land that has been 'given back', it's cared for! ๐Ÿซ‚

But....What about country that is none of these? What then? Who cares for this? ๐Ÿ˜”

It is still the ancestral home to tens of thousands of people over many millennia

It is still the home today of animals, plants and insects ๐Ÿ› ๐Ÿฆ ๐ŸŒฟ

It is still a place that draws people ๐Ÿ‘ฃ

It is still country and it is still worth caring for! ๐Ÿ–คโค๏ธ๐Ÿ’›

Almost 20 kg of rubbish removed! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜Ž

Just imagine. Just imagine that Jeremy Rockliff and his Ministers including local member Madeleine Ogilvie MP dedicated their "desire" and the Governments resources to the health and wellbeing of those that live on this amazing island.

Instead, they have chosen the well-trodden path of division and disdain toward the community and the place that means so much to so many. We have people unable to find places to live, in part due to the obsession with increasing visitation at all costs. We have people dying on the ramps of hospitals and some of the lowest education outcomes in the Country. We also have huge potential to fix these things. Instead, the Premier has become obsessed with big shiny things like AFL stadiums and now he's rolled out Felix Ellis MP to appeal to the lowest common denominator and beat the drum of "fast tracking" the cable car. They are more than happy to give the middle finger to the States planning tribunal that comprehensively rejected the proposal (in large part on economic grounds).

This is what a government does when they don't have the courage or even the brains to fix the things that matter. The cable car is what it has always been. A bat to swing at the "nimby's" and "anti-everything's" while the supporters cheer them on. Today's headline is just Jeremy Rockliff and his right-wing party members doing a dance for the wealthy and well-connected shareholders of a failed idea. So Dear Premier, please get passionate about the health and well-being of Tasmanians instead of a stupid cable car. Thanks.

Yesterday our lead walking guide Erin Hibberd had the pleasure of being one of the guest speakers at a wildlife carers event held at the Great Lake Community Centre ... He spoke about how walking guides can play a vital role in the identification, locating and treatment of wombats suffering with mange! ๐Ÿพ๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿ™
