Have you visited the Book of Kells experience in Dublin. The book is located in Trinity College and was written by Celtic Monks around the year 800. It is the four Gospels from the New Testament and some of the script is almost invisible to the naked eye. The famous Celtic knot features on most of the pages which are rotated every 6 to 8 weeks with only 2 pages shown at a time. Th missing text of the book of Viz is missing sadly as it is reported to be the most illuminating in both images and script.

LEAP CASTLE - County Offaly -
Leap Castle is considered one of the most haunted castles in the world. Built in the late 15th century by the O’Carroll Clan, it has a chilling history of clan feuds and betrayal. The castle’s infamous “Bloody Chapel” and ghostly apparitions continue to attract thrill-seekers.

KINNITY CASTLE - County Offaly
while Kinnity has it's own ghosts, they appear to be more playful unless they deem you not worthy of the bed you sleep in. This was a place where Paganism and Christianity met, the natural and otherworldly converge, and the history of Ireland itself is etched in every stone and bramble. It is a castle destroyed, restored, and re-invented many times in its long life. The original land and dwelling was an ancient druidic ceremonial ground built on a powerful leyline. Christianity first appeared on the land of Kinnitty Castle in the 6th century when St. Finnian of Clonard built a monastery on the site. Though the spread of Christianity began to divest the Irish of their druid roots, the connection to the ancient ways is still seen today.
The staff tell the story of a serving maid who had a child to a young noble of the family. Refusing to give up the child she hid the baby in her quarters. A row ensued and the baby was thrown out of the top-floor window. Overcome with grief, the young other then jumped to her death. I have to say I personally felt her in our room as she gently lifted the sheet to cover me in the early hours. Other guests have had odd experiences when either a prank by a ghost or something more sinister occurred.

There are many reasons why you need to put Croatia on your travel list but the idyllic islands will have you spellbound not only because of the clear waters but also the serene landscape that surrounds the picturesque country. There is something about Ireland and of course, Dublin is a headliner. A lot of locals tend to stay away from the Temple Bar mainly because it is famous with tourists. Do you know why this is?

One reason is the whiskey, distilled in it's own name. The bar received its first licence in 1840 and since then has had several owners. In 2011, they became recognised by the Guinness Book of World Records for a marathon guitar player who kept the crowds entertained for 114 hours, 6 minutes and 30 seconds. Now that would be a set of sore fingers, not to mention his back.

TORNGAT MOUNTAINS CANADA.
The Torngat Mountains have the highest peaks of eastern continental Canada. The highest point is Mount Caubvick (also known as Mont D'Iberville) at 1,652 m (5,420 ft). There are no trees in the Torngat Mountains because the mountains lie in an arctic tundra climate and are therefore above the tree line. (Info courtesy of Wikipedia) There is a base camp in this remote region of Canada which is accessible from Nunavik. There are several ways to access the mountains, either by helicopter, boat charters in the summertime from Nain with air charters flying out of Goose Bay, Labrador and Kuujjuak in Nunavik. There is something about small villages no matter where they are. A sense of belonging, a sense of peace but not without struggle. This is GREENLAND, a place I am yet to visit. I am told by colleagues that a visit is a life-changing experience, maybe due to the almost isolation but I think the scenery provides those with an inquisitive nature, stories of the past and the present and for the photographers, an endless presence of light and shade. A colleague of mine reminded me of a question we sometimes get asked and that is 'What is your favourite beach'. Wendy Addinsall this is for you. Whitehaven is just magical but this is of course CABLE BEACH in Western Australia. The beaches here in Australia can go on and on and on as does Cable Beach. Three weeks is my recommendation to tour this big state but of course, if you have longer then why not take your time.
