Our very happy group of travellers are loving their journey to Bhutan.

The Great Buddha Dordenma is one of the largest Buddha statues in the world standing 52m tall and houses over 100,000 smaller bronze Buddha statues inside. Just one of the many sites to see around the capital, Thimphu.

Five years ago today I first visited Bhutan. I was chatting to a monk I photographed at Buddha Dordenma, a gigantic Buddha statue in the mountains of Bhutan, but back then was still a construction site. We chatted about faith and life and I began to understand what makes the Bhutanese people so special.
