I must say the Melbourne Airport has become a war zone lately and the standard of ground staff is very poor. Most of the new security have no idea and lack training, but they don't deserve being bashed on the job.

A Melbourne Airport security guard has told of how he was allegedly violently attacked by an Uber driver because he asked the driver to leave the taxi rank.

Singh suffered a fractured skull and needed seven stitches after he was allegedly attacked with a tyre iron by a disgruntled Uber driver.

The 28-year-old father says he told the rideshare driver to move after parking in a taxi rank at Melbourne Airport.

That's when Singh says the man became abusive, hitting him repeatedly on Saturday afternoon.

"No one expects someone is gonna take the weapon from the car and straight away gonna hit you," he said.

His colleagues rushed to help, saying he was covered in blood.

Singh and others at the company told 9News abuse at the airport was increasing.
"I get very scared about Melbourne Airport. I don't want to go over there after that," he said.
Guards want more training and hope they can patrol in pairs rather than alone.

"We love our job. But if it's not safe for us, how is gonna be safe for the public?" one of them said.

Wilson Security says it's committed to ensuring security officers are appropriately protected to do their job safely, and constantly review and improve their training to help achieve this.

Meanwhile, police raided a home on Georges Street in St Albans yesterday morning, and arrested a 29-year-old man. He has been charged over the alleged assault and was given bail to appear in court tomorrow.

Full day tours are the best way to see the area with a maximum of 11 people, or if you have a group of friends for an occasion we can look after you too, any size. We also have offer private tours on an hourly rate for 2 - 6 passengers. We are based in Healesville, but we offer a door 2 door pickup and drop off service in all suburbs including the CBD. We are currently building a luxury 2 bedroom house in the heart of Healesville, where we can offer 2 nights accommodation including wine tours and wedding transfers.
