Overtake road trains with caution. They're long up to 60 meters🤯 and heavy, so wait for a clear view of the road ahead and plenty of space for a safe pass. Fully loaded they need up to 1 km to come to a full stop from full speed!

2️⃣ Maintain Visibility:
Ensure you can see far down the road before overtaking. Being aware of oncoming traffic and potential hazards is crucial for a safe maneuver.

3️⃣ Give Ample Space:
Road trains have extended blind spots. Give them plenty of room when overtaking and maintain a safe distance afterward.

4️⃣ Indicate Clearly:
Signal your intentions early and let the road train driver know your plans. Clear communication is key for a safe pass. All trucks have a radio, so if you have one address the truckie with the truck number (visible on the back of the truck) and let them know of your intentions, they usually be fast to let you know when you are safe to overtake.

Riding the geological wave at Wave Rock, Western Australia! 🌊🪨 This iconic natural wonder stands as a testament to the artistry of the Earth, where a massive granite formation has been sculpted into the likeness of a crashing wave over millions of years.Nature's Sculpture: Imagine a wave frozen in time, rising 15 meters high and stretching over 100 meters in length. I first fell in love with Australia as a young traveller. The freedom of the open road, the squeaking of soft sand beneath my feet and the laid back Aussie life style had me hooked on life down under.

The abundance of wildlife, and the vast, seemingly untouched countryside is a nature lovers dream. Everywhere I went, I met beautiful people and stood in awe of the many unique landscapes that make Australia so special but there was one place, a very special place that my green heart fell in love with the most. An idyllic paradise island called K’gari, a place I have been lucky to call home for almost 10 years, you may know as Fraser Island. From backpacker, to volunteer, to hostel manager, to now owner and creator of Drop Bear Adventures, my unique Aussie adventures have instilled a passion in me to share my abundance of knowledge with you.
