💔 Remembering Loonkiito, the World's Oldest Lion 💔

Today, we bid farewell to Loonkiito, thought to be the world's oldest lion, who defied the odds by living until the age of 19. Most lions have a lifespan of around 14 years, making Loonkiito's journey all the more extraordinary. A big thanks to .j.briggs.photography at Lion Guardians for sharing this wonderful photo that perfectly captures the essence of this remarkable lion and reminds us of the beauty and vulnerability of wildlife in their natural habitat.

Today, we honour the life of this majestic creature and reflect on the importance of preserving our wildlife. However, as gorgeous as these tusks are, they put our elephant friends in danger. These tusks are made of ivory, a hot commodity in the market. It's sad but true.

And because half of their intake may not be digested, they spend up to three-quarters of their day munching on vegetation! 🌿🐘

It's worth noting that even elephant calves are massive in size, with newborns weighing in at 120 kilograms
