Gday Fossickers
Been throwing around a few ideas of late and have come up with this, please comment if of interest...
As Mortlake is a great little town and a good location for fossicking as well as its surrounding areas, would there be interest in a new club....
Not so much for lapidary (but will still be some focus) but more a fossicking group....

Fossickers Group ideas

Weekend/day fossicking trips
Mt Shadwell, Mooralla, Camperdown, Ararat just some places in mind, also a couple others I would love to get involved, or if you know any areas/towns that may be interested....
Info about fossicking in surrounding areas
Newsletter/updates
Talks/info days, display days, trade your rocks days
Depending on how much interest etc, will also decide on membership fees etc.... which will be put back into community etc....
Memberships will include things like maybe printed hi vis, or shirts, invites to days newsletters etc....

Still ideas in planning, if have any helpful ideas or info am open to suggestions..... again just a skeleton plan but hoping to grow some minerals on it 😉

Today's creation
Olivine/peridot cluster 925 silver pendant
There has been a lot myth as to olivine being cut polished and being unstable stone...
I can tell you very confidently that it as stable in jewellery as opal etc... all olivine cut and polishined at crexie is untreated 100% natural stone, and comes with replacement guarantee on our work....
We have set a few of these, and I have given them the kid test (daughter wears one for near 5 years and my fossicking hat which does cop punishment also has a cabbed one on the band....

Ever thought you could do this with olivine?

Just to clarify when was cutting rope with the green olivine I was using edge between the chips, roughly about 20mm edge.... not cutting using serrations from chips
