Virtuoso Partner and Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton's Belmond Luxury Hotels Partner I am the Managing Director and Luxury Travel Executive at Luxury Travel Style based in Shell Cove NSW. I hold an Advanced Diploma in Travel and Tourism Business Management as well as Cert III and IIII in Travel and Tourism. I am a local and have lived in this area all my life. One of my greatest passions in life aside

from my beautiful family of course, is Travel! My specialities are Luxury Travel, Snow Skiing trips, School Group Travel and Family Travel. I have been very fortunate to have travelled the world and explore all 7 continents in depth. From driving in an RV through America to spending time with the locals in Fijian Villages, small ship cruising and scuba diving around the islands of Fiji in. Bartering for bargains in Bali many times over to Elephant trekking & cave kayaking in Thailand. Cruising the beautiful Caribbean Sea, jumping off waterfalls in Jamaica, to cheering on the Knicks in New York & shopping up a storm in Vegas. Marvelling at the Aurora Borealis just under the Arctic Circle, learning about the Inuit way of life, helicoptering my way through frozen canyons & relaxing in thermal pools surrounded in snow in -37 in Canadian Yukon Territory, immersing ourselves in the warm waters of the Onsen's in Japan to being serenaded by 3 amigos in Los Cabos, Mexico. Sipping champagne on the deck in the beautiful villages of France while overlooking famous V***e Clicquot's vineyards to dining on the freshest of Sun Dried Octopus in the Greek Islands. Enjoying the traditional Arabian Coffee experience in the UAE, camel riding at sunset in the deserts of Abu Dhabi and swimming in The Persian Gulf to dining on the sensational chilli crab in Singapore and truffle in Rome. From Sea Kayaking in Hawaii and the islands of Rhodes in Greece to dog sledding in Canada & whale watching in New Zealand. I have been dropped in by helicopter onto a glacier and iced trekked the same glacier in Alaska. From being awestruck driving through the stunning landscape of the Canadian Wilderness, enjoying a glass of bubbles on the shores of Lake Louise, eating Beaver Tails in Banff, sailing the Greek Islands with our very own butler as we enjoyed breakfast on our private balcony each morning overlooking a different Greek Island to zip lining my way through Kauai in the Hawaiian islands. From seal, whale &penguin education from Zodiacs on Expedition in Antarctica to climbing the old walls of Dubrovnik in Croatia & taking in the gorgeous scenery, riding a gondola in Venice, eating traditional burek in Slovenia, wandering the Cotswolds of England, learning Tango in Argentina to visiting the beautiful region of Patagonia in Chili. Flying sea planes in Vancouver, cycling through every city possible, helicopters over the Grand Canyon, white water rafting in Bali to snorkeling the El Arco in Mexico. From making our way from Vancouver to Whistler to Calgary driving in our own time and stopping to immerse ourselves and take in the glorious and breathtaking Canadian Rockies while enjoying close encounters with elk, moose and deer to Disneyland, Disneyworld and everything in between at both Christmas and Halloween. From exploring the ancient ruins & archeological site of Ephesus in Turkey to tasting the incredible wines of Crete, riding some of the world's most iconic train trips from the Glacier Express in Switzerland to the Blue Train in South Africa. From Broadway shows in New York City to The West End Theatre in London. It has been an amazing ride so far, with hopefully many more adventures to come! Our love of Snow Skiing has taken us abroad and I been lucky enough to also experience skiing throughout the USA including Colorado & The Sierra Nevada's, Canada, Japan, Switzerland, Austria and New Zealand. In addition, my adventures have taken me right around our own beautiful country, from hiking around Uluru and Kings Canyon, Sunset Camel rides in Broome, fishing in The Gulf of Carpentaria, learning about bush medicine in Arnhem Land, swimming in the secluded waterholes of the Kimberley to diving our amazing Great Barrier Reef and Ningaloo Reef!! Having 4 children of my own, I also understand the logistics & challenges of travelling with a large family, but believe me, it can done and done enjoyably, creating memories you'll hold dear for life! I have had 26 years experience working in Leisure & Corporate Travel. I am very honoured to have been nominated and make the top 10 finalist list for Women In Travel, Australia wide. Travel is about truly experiencing a destination and immersing yourself with unique experiences, cultures and food so that it holds a place in your heart forever. Allow me to curate the perfect adventures that are unique to you. Sincerely, Donna

An overview of our European Danube River wine cruise river cruise onboard AmaWaterways. AmaWaterways have just been announced Best Rivercruise Comoany by Virtuoso and I can vouch first hand for this. Here is a day to day of our itinerary from Budapest, Hungary to Vilshofen, Germany.

Day 1 - you can board the ship from midday on.
We boarded at 3pm following 2 nights in Budapest.
Lunch is served, and your stateroom may be ready so you can unpack and familiarize yourself with the ship. By 3pm all staterooms are ready.
I loved Budapest…a gorgeous city! The thermal baths are a must as well as the ‘world’s most beautiful cafe’! The shoes on the Danube is a memorial to the Hungarian Jews shot into the Danube just before the end of WW2 and reminder of the dark history that this area holds. Easily walkable or use the hop on hop off bus.

Day 2. was spent at Esztergom Basilica in Hungary & exploring the beautiful area of Esztergom. What a beautiful part of Hungary!

Day 3 - we cruised to Vienna, Austria - we had an incredibly busy day opting for a cycling tour of the city first up followed by a visit to the Imperial Palace where the former rulers of Austria, the Habsburg family ( a family significance in Austrian history ) who lived in complete grandeur inside the palace in the Baroque era. We finished the day with the only additionally payable option - a Mozart & Strauss concert in one of the Viennese concert halls. Incredible!! And absolutely worth the nominal 99 Euros.

Day 4. The following day we docked into Krems, Austria where we chose a morning walk through the gorgeous fairytale village of Dürnstein. The beautiful preservation of these villages is mesmerizing & cruising through the breathtaking Wachau Valley wine region is nothing short of spectacular! That afternoon was spent relaxing on the sun deck of the ship literally watching the world go by as we relaxed in the pool and hot tub. Having a pool on the top of the ship in peak Sunmer season was brilliant.
I also love that every traditional meal onboard AmaWaterways was prepared using local ingredients sourced at every port, so in between all of this is delicious local food and local wines included.

Day 5. The following day we docked in Spitz, Austria where we visited the Melk abbey - the abbey is still to this day a working Monestary & is fascinating. The afternoon was spent relaxing onboard in the pool again.

Day 6. The next day we docked in Grein, Austria where we spent the morning relaxing by the pool onboard and then the afternoon at Burg Clam Castle which was built in 1149 in the village of Clam. Here we enjoyed wine tasting with the Count of Clam who still resides in the castle with his family who have lived in the castle over the generations for 550 years. After a tour of the castle &. Meeting with the Count, we made our back to the ship for dinner. Of course you welcome each day to explore each port of call in your own time. Just be sure to be back onboard in time for departure.

Day 7. The next day we docked in Linz, Austria where we chose a full day in Salzburg to get our Sound of Music on! I thought
I thought of my Mum all day here as she loved this movie and I had fond memories of watching with her.
With a visit to the church in the gorgeous town of Mondsee ( where the church is located from the movie ), then onto Salzburg for a guided tour of the city the Mozart Statue, and then we spent time shopping and trying the local street sausages and beer.

Day 8. Then the next morning we cruised quietly into Germany into Passau. I love how peaceful river cruising is. No noise, just gliding through the rivers unannounced. The activities onboard are beautifully varied and offer something for all ages and fitness levels. We chose a strenuous morning hike up to the castle for a fabulous view over the town. Then again an afternoon relaxing around and in the pool on the sun deck.

Our final day was in Vilshofen, Germany where a private pop up Oktoberfest beer hall was put on for the guests of AmaWaterways. A great night of beer , pretzels & German dancing was had, followed by yet another beautifully prepared meal by the fabulous chef of AmaWaterways.

We have now disembarked the ship and are on our way now to Prague. On this particular itinerary, a Prague extension is a 3 night option. I chose to do a 2 night option in Prague and do our own thing due to
a flight schedule change. My final night will be in Helsinki as I will be flying home on Finnair.
Folks, I have received lots of enquiries about AmaWaterways. Please be assured that I will be in touch as soon as I am back in a few days. I know there are many questions & much interest.
For this year it is not possible to book on AmaWaterways from Australia due to a contractual agreement that AmaWaterways is under.
The exciting news is that from January 2025 onwards, AmaWaterways becomes a brilliant option for Australians looking to experience luxury river cruising. As a member of our luxury cruise collection, there are some
Exclusive benefits when you book with me for your cruise.
If you would like to know more, drop me a comment or an email.
I invited one of my best friends on this trip so she could experience this as well. I think she would also be happy to vouch for AmaWaterways. It has been absolutely spectacular!

Folks, we officially have a new contender to the Australian market for global river cruising.. the gorgeous AmaWaterways. I have just disembarked from the AmaMagna after 8 days onboard from Budapest, Hungary to Vilshofen, Germany. Loved it!!!From the stunning ships to the all inclusive port activities with a fabulous range on offer for all abilities…( I did a very strenuous hike yesterday in Passau up to the top of the mountain, while others opted for a walking tour of the city & even then there are standard & gentle options for that ). As AmaWaterways have joined our Virtuoso Luxe affiliation, which means I can offer you more than other guests would receive. I feel incredibly grateful to have been invited on this cruise to be able to showcase them to the Aussie market.
I loved it so much that I will be hosting a luxury cruise evening in November so please do keep an eye out as AmaWaterways will be coming along to Shell Cove to join us. I cannot recommend them enough!! I am now taking bookings from January 2025 onwards for AmaWaterways. More photos to come in the following post…. In the meantime, hope you have a giggle at our little rating.

I was invited to lunch today New Orleans style at the private dining room, NOLA Barangaroo by Brand USA & Infinity Holidays.
I know I’ve certainly seen a huge increase in trips to the USA after a bit of a lull really for this destination post pandemic where I found the majority of my travellers opting for those big a European curated trips.
Today concreted though that the USA is back baby!
Road tripping is the most popular way to experience the United States & did you know 2026 will be the 100th anniversary of Route 66! If there was ever a reason to get on over to the States and drive this iconic road, that might just be it.
I think it might even be time for a tag-along trip in 2026… let me if you’re keen! 🇺🇸

Hong Kong! 2 nights on Kowloon and 1 night on Hong Kong Island to achieve a great overview of both. The verdict? It depends on your precedence… a little more westernised or very traditional… both offer a unique and quite different experience.
The flight: Cathay Pacific Business class, the accommodation: Victoria Harbour view suite, Intercontinental Grand Stanford Kowloon and City View room JW Marriott Hong Kong Island.
The experiences: Food and walking tour of Kowloon, ( just brilliant! ) Junk Boat cruise and light show, traditional tea ceremony, shopping, the most amazing restaurant dinner experience@ Social Place.
Victoria Park, the Peak Tram & lookout, riding the cutest little traditional city trams.
A great stopover location for Asia Pacific/India and enroute to European destinations with loads of tradition, chaos, culture and great food, so me gritty culture & always with a little bit of luxe 😍.
A great way to turn that flight connection into a mini holiday!

Finishing up a huge 5 days of ILTM, Asia Pacific in Singapore. This is the Luxury Travel Market Asia Pacific and an invaluable schedule of 80 or so one on one meetings with Luxury travel brands all over the world.
To quote one of our global hotel reps, ‘these relationships between our hotel management and our luxury travel advisors are essential. Without the relationship a hotel is just a building with no soul.’
You don’t want to be just a number on a website.
Following Singapore, I will be in Hong Kong for the next few days to show you all the fab things about it. Hong Kong tourism are really ramping it up as a great option for a stopover hub once more, see if you are keen on knowing more, let me know and once I return.

I made it Singas eventually.. a little worse for wear & very happy to have fallen into my bed at Novotel on Steven’s for the night. Managing a couple of hours sleep, before launching into a packed schedule of ILTM meetings with Luxury travel suppliers all over the world. In total I have 88 meetings, incredible hosted hotel lunches, cocktail parties and a finale Gala evening before heading to Homg Kong for a few nights. This is all to gain the absolute best knowledge for you my clients. I will come back armed with the most up to date important information relative to our luxury hotels, hotel groups, suppliers, cruises etc.
to kick off this unbelievable 5 days, is a hosted private lunch at the gorgeous Shangri-La, Singapore.
The first course was the ultimate ‘Kueh Pie Tee’ where we built our hand made flour cup with lobster, caviar, crab and fresh coriander. This dish is culturally only Singaporean and Malay, so a special privilege to be part of it.
I will keep you posted over the course of the next few days. Very exciting to be part of this incredible group invitational opportunity here in Singapore with the Asia Pacific travel market.

I always do suggest to pack your sense of humour and your sense of adventure along with your luggage.
So much can happen when we travel. I had 16 people affected recently by high water levels due to recent flooding on several river cruise companies which meant disruptions on their cruises. Qantas flights were cancelled out 2 days ago due to not being to crew aircraft ( middle of our winter and staff are sick ) & then dealt with some incompetent ground staff where things could have been done better but they weren’t. Today my flight has been delayed due to a random extra checked bag being detected onboard. 😱 Security risk. On the 1st of July it’s Establishment Day in Hong along so an extra bag could be a problem…. So all bags off to be counted on a Sunday. I’ve missed my connection in Hong Kong onto Singapore.
90% of time things run pretty smoothly. But there is always the chance that they won’t. Required: Sense of humour, sense of adventure and that we’ll make the most of it’ attitude when things that are out of our control arise. Luckily I know a good travel advisor who can quickly jump on and rebook me into to next flight and reissue my tickets on the spot 😉 she’s worthy of a bottle of wine to say thanks…..oh wait, maybe not the whole bottle lol.
I did that while sitting on the aircraft and now I’m taking my own advice right now as I look to be landing in Singas at 2am rather than 7pm, & will hit the ground running at 7am.
The potential reality of travel is that it isn’t always perfect. Sometimes things do not go according to plan.
If this happens, I will always go the extra mile for you within my control.
The joys of travel! But we all love it and in the end it makes for great story telling…. I’ve been snowed in several times, once for 4 days straight with all flights out cancelled repeatedly day after day, crazy winds resulting in aborted landings, flights cancelled due to ash clouds for days straight, driven by bus from Rome to Florence when the flight was cancelled only to find we missed the next flight - well bus vs jet .. my money on the jet to get there first, so no surprises there, then to have really don’t give too hoots ground staff and subsequent second cancelled flight to the our onward destination. We’ve been bumped off ( yes family of 6 ), that ended up an upgrade because I wasn’t having that and the list goes on. Today is really a blip in the ocean but when it happens and your travel plans are impacted it can really affect us. Plus add fatigue because often because we are in what time zone again? And then the fact that holidays are money, well of course we can get pretty grumpy. So somewhere in there I’ll dig out my sense of humour and ‘oh well it is what it is’ attitude and accept my fate of a 3 hour if I’m lucky sleep before I launch into the start 3 full days of luxury travel worldwide supplier meetings. I do think that the more we travel the more forgiving we are of these situations, but please do know that my job is not only to arrange incredible stuff it’s also to help you out to best of my ability when things don’t go according to plan. It’s not just booking a trip, it’s so much more.
I don’t know about you, but I could write a book!’ It could be a best seller and make everyone smile 😊

29/06/2024

When you feel it’s time to treat yourself when travelling, consider premium economy depending on the airline or business class. Travel can be very stressful so it’s worth considering overriding some of that stress & beginning your trip in a lot of comfort and style. Today I’m flying to Singapore on Cathay Pacific in premium economy. My return. Journey will be in business class. This way I can showcase both cabins on CX. Both of these cabin vary greatly between airlines so it’s nice to have first hand info when making the decision. I will be in Singapore for the Asia Pacific Luxury Travel Market Convention. My journey started today in the newly revamped American Express lounge in SYD. It’s been a whille since I’ve used this lounge and the remodel is impressive. If you are AMEX holder, check that your card type will allow you access into the lounge. Lounge access really is the best way to start a long haul flight (in my case via Hong Kong to all for a 3 night stay on the way home). Skip the airport chaos & relax & then board your premium economy or business class flight. Premium economy is one of the hottest tickets in the skies right now. Go on, you’re worth it.

What a week it has been.
I am beaming with excitement and very happy to share that I have been nominated for a National Travel Industry Award for Most Outstanding Mobile Travel Adviser in Australia.
This is such an incredible honour.
While it doesn’t stop here, there now has to be submissions, interviews and judging panels, even if I don’t make it any further, I am so humbled and thrilled to be nominated!
The NTIA’s are the academy awards of the Travel Industry and will be held in Sydney in October.

I was going through some things through the week and came across an extract of the parliamentary speech that the Australian Federal Assistant Treasurer; Stephen Jones MP delivered to parliament and then sent to me after we met on several occasions, & conducted a media interview with channel nine in 2021 to highlight to disarray of the Australian Travel Industry due to the impacts of the border closures and the incredible adverse effects of Travel Agents and the industry’s affiliate operators such as airport transfer services your operators etc,
I’m very pleased I kept it as it highlights how far we have come just in 2 short years post pandemic.
What a spectacular recovery it has been. We all thought would most definitely be slow and gradual but ended up nothing of the sort. Hard and fast is the only to describe it with the thirst and hunger for travel and experiencing what the world has to offer driving the continued travel numbers.

You will see under my email signature that my local travel agency has reached platinum status under MTA. Platinum places me among a small niche group and is reflective of the achievements of the business. It’s a huge achievement & I would love to once again extend a heartfelt ‘Thankyou’ for your loyal support from all of my loyal clients, your fabulous referrals and to all of my new clients.

It’s been another huge year and we are only halfway there.
I am extremely proud of my local business which services not only Shell Cove, Shellharbour and Illawarra residents but extends well into Sydney and greater NSW but also Australia wide. I have many clients based in Queensland, Western Australia, Tasmania & Canberra as well.
I look forward to continuing to deliver the personal service you have come to know, my qualifications & expertise bringing over 20 years experience in the industry. I look forward to arranging more wonderful evenings where we have our suppliers come to our beautiful part of town and we can enjoy a drink and chat and hopefully continue to inspire you.
I am and have always been so passionate about this industry and I love that I can share that passion with you and deliver bespoke, curated experiences combined with our luxury affiliations exclusive partnerships such as Virtuoso Travel and Belmond.
I love that I can share my experience and knowledge with Sienna who is my school based trainee and do my part in helping to concrete the future of the Australian Travel Industry which is vital for Aussie jobs, Australian representation & future generations. To be recognised for doing this is an absolute honour. ❤️

This may be helpful for some of my travellers. Even if you don’t have ADHD, packing or even the thought of packing can be very stressful.
Hopefully there may be a few hints and tips here that may prove helpful. 🙏🏻

Several issues cause travel to be particularly stressful for people with ADHD—such as struggling with executive function, time blindness, and working memory. http://cntrvlr.co/SoGUlqw

As another week closes, I’m reflecting on what I can only refer to as a continuing travel frenzy!
While I am incredibly busy with intricate travel arrangements for this year and well into 2025 and even now securing river cruises and ocean cruises for 2026 where available, there are also still many last minute plans coming through for travel in the next weeks!
Can I just extend a huge Thankyou for your support of my local Luxe Boutique Shell Cove Travel Agency 🙏🏻
For the past 9 years now, I have been servicing not only Shell Cove locals to arrange amazing adventures and experiences, but also our clientele extends onto greater Illawarra and well into the Sydney market, and indeed Australia wide, all based on your fabulous referrals.
In the coming months I will personally be working quite a bit from overseas. I am working with our suppliers to bring to you some incredible destinations, properties & cruise lines. Work takes me much further than the office but that means first hand information directly to you which is imperative for the best relationships with our suppliers, ensuring the best experiences are created and designed uniquely for you.
Our assistance team is always on hand for emergencies in these cases.
I have more exciting news coming up with another local showcase that I am in the midst of arranging… this time on small ship luxury cruising and expedition cruising. More information to follow in the coming weeks, but I’m sure we will have yet another fabulous evening chatting about all things cruising!
Our airport transfer business is in the midst of creation and we are hoping to have that up and running as an affiliate in the next couple of months.
Sienna is up and running as a school based trainee, working every Wednesday in the office. Such a great opportunity for HSC students.
Lots of exciting things happening and a few more fabulous announcements coming soon!
Wishing you all a great weekend and here’s to 26 years of doing what I love, with the past 9 years of having the privilege of operating a business in my home town right here locally. And here is to continuing to provide the best for our travellers from start to finish.
❤️

Have your heard of ATIA - Australia Travel Industry Association ( formerly AFTA - Australian Federation of Travel Agents ) and ATAS our industry accreditation scheme?
As Australian based accredited travel agents, this is our travel agents peak industry body and our peak body not only act in our best interests but also in yours as Australian travellers.
For example, Did you know that airlines are able to cancel up to 20% of their flight schedules and still retain their designated Australian airport slots thanks to the outdated 80-20 rule. Frustrating at the very least.

To tackle these issues and help ensure the long-term success of Australia’s travel and tourism sector, ATIA continues to call for reforms to the aviation sector for this rule to be changes to enhance our passenger experiences.
Without ATIA or AFTA, travellers would be at the mercy of overseas owned and operated online booking platforms, who don't care about Australian travellers or the way these rules impact us.
Therefore it’s great to know that the accredited travel agencies peak industry body has our backs and the backs of Aussie travellers.

And as a side note, our own Managing Director and founder of the MTA business model is passionate about this representation and is on the board for ATIA.
You will see below on my email signature that we are ATAS accredited and as key ATIA members we are invested in your best interests as Australian travellers.
Just another great reason to support your local ATIA and ATAS accredited Travel Agent. 🙌🏻
