BAJE TO THE WORLD!!!
Baje to the World is a project of the Community Development Department, Ministry of Youth and Community Empowerment comprising a series of twelve (12) talent shows, one (1) semi-final and one (1) Grande Finale on January 25, 2020. The winner will be taken to an international talent competition to perform and will be provided with airfare, accommodation and transportation. The competition will unleash the true Barbadian talent and creativity and serve as a catalyst for strengthening integration among all Barbadians, artisans and cultural practitioners. It will also serve to promote Barbadian talent in arts and culture on the international stage and will generate new opportunities for our nationals to earn income.
Baje to the World will showcase a multi-talented cultural display in the visual and literary arts - storytelling, theatre, dance, music and new media from every parish over a period of six ( 6) months.
Rules and Submission Guidelines
The Community Development Department, Ministry of Youth and Community Empowerment will be hosting the first Baje to the World from August 17th, 2019 to January 25th 2020. The Community Development Department, Ministry of Youth and Community Empowerment is inviting Barbadian citizens who are songwriters, vocal recording artistes, and composers to submit a suitable jingle to promote the inaugural Baje to the World.
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
The jingle should contain voice, lyrics and musical accompaniment.
The Jingle should speak to the ideals and intent of Baje to the World.
The jingle should include the words ‘BAJE TO THE WORLD TALENT SHOWS’.
The Jingle should be no more than two (2) minutes in length.
The Jingle should be submitted by 6:00 p.m. on August 6th 2019 via email as an audio track in MP3, MP4 or WAV format to the email address: [email protected].
Entries are limited to two (2) per person.
Entries must not contain any obscene, offensive or otherwise inappropriate material.
Entries must be original work and must not contain previously published lyrics or melody. Absolutely no sampling of melodies will be allowed.
Any violations will result in disqualification.

Voice and Diction (25 points)
Musical Arrangement and Lyrics (25 points)
Reflecting the essence of Baje to the World ( 25 points)
Jingle is “catchy” and memorable (25 points)
COMPETITION RULES
The Judges’ decision is final and binding on all matters relating to this Contest.
The Community Development Department, Ministry of Youth and Community Empowerment maintain the exclusive right to utilize the winning jingle for the promotion of BAJE TO THE WORLD.
Participants agree to the use of their names, voices, performances, photographs /videos, images and/or likeness e.g. for promotional purposes by the Community Development Department and the Ministry of Youth and Community Empowerment.
The Community Development Department, Ministry of Youth and Community Empowerment is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, damaged, inaccurate, stolen, delayed, misdirected, undelivered, or garbled entries; or for lost, interrupted or unavailable network, server, Internet Service Provider (ISP), website, or other connections’ availability or accessibility. Participants are advised to submit their entries in a timely manner in order to avoid any such mishaps.
The winning jingle will be credited to the successful author; however, the jingle will be used in the Marketing & Communications Campaign for Baje to the World and become the exclusive property of The Community Development Department, Ministry of Youth and Community Empowerment.
PLEASE NOTE:
The winning jingle will be awarded a cash prize of BDS$2,000.00.
The deadline for submission of jingles is 6:00 p.m. on August 6th, 2019.
