EB3 এর মাধ্যমে Unskilled ক্যাটাগরিতে গ্রিনকার্ড বর্তমানে বেশ জনপ্রিয় হলেও আপনি যদি কোন অনন্য গুণ, জ্ঞান, অভিজ্ঞতা, বা যোগ্যতার অধিকারী হয়ে থাকেন তাহলে বেশ অল্প সময় (work permit within 1 year and Green Card within 1-1.5 year normally) ও অর্থ ব্যয় করে Green Card পেতে পারেন। আজ আমরা সংক্ষেপে EB2 সম্পর্কে লিখার চেষ্টা করব।
মেধাবী ও অভিজ্ঞতাসম্পন্ন ব্যক্তিদের আমেরিকা সব সময় মূল্যায়ন করে থাকে। তাই এই বিশেষ ক্যাটাগরিতে এপ্লাই করে আপনি যেকোন ভিসা স্ট্যাটাস ও বিশ্বের যেকোন প্রান্ত থেজে Green Card পেতে পারেন।

EB2 কমনলি দুই ভাবে করা যায়।
১. জব থেকে স্পন্সর: আপনার এমপ্লয়ার এটা আপনার জন্য আবেদন করবেন। এর ধাপ ৩ টি: আপনার মত দক্ষ কর্মী পাওয়া কঠিন প্রমাণ সাপেক্ষে PERM/লেবার সার্টিফিকেট ফাইল করবেন, এটা এপ্রুভ হলে I-140 এবং সব শেষে Green Card এর জন্য আবেদন।

২. নিজেকে নিজে স্পন্সর: এর অন্য নাম National Interest Waiver. আপনি চাইলে নিজেকেই স্পন্সর করতে পারবেন এবং এক্ষেত্রে আপনার কোন জব বা এমপ্লয়ার দরকার পড়বে না। এই Green Card এর জন্য আপনাকে ৩ টি শর্ত পূরণ করতে হবে:
i. আপনার মাস্টার্স বা পিএইচ.ডি. ডিগ্রি বা ৫ বছরের জব এক্সপেরিএন্স থাকতে হবে।
ii. আপনি আপনার ফিল্ডে সুপরিচিত/প্রভাবশালী।
iii. আপনার মাধ্যমে আমেরিকার অর্থনীতি সমৃদ্ধ হবে।
শর্তগুলো শুনতে বেশ কঠিন মনে হলে আদতে Lawyer Work এবং এটা পিটিশনের মাধ্যমে প্রমান করা তার দায়িত্ব। আপনার মাস্টার্স থাকলে বা গবেষণার অভিজ্ঞতা/প্রকাশনা থাকলে বা আপনি আমেরিকা বা যেকোন জায়গায় পি এইচ ডি অধ্যয়নরত থাকলে এই ক্যাটাগরি আপনার জন্য পারফেক্ট। অনেকগুলো ল ফার্ম এই কাজটার জন্য ফ্রিতে আপনার সিভি ইভ্যালুয়েশন করে থাকে। এই প্রসেসের ধাপ ২ টি: I-140 ফাইলিং এবং Green Card er জন্য আবেদন। এ সংক্রান্ত যেকোন প্রশ্ন আমাদের পেজে বা গ্রুপে করতে পারেন।

Two cents about GRE:
You should do timed practice when you want to solve verbal problems. My accuracy in Verbal is not so bad when I solve problems untimed. But, in the final exam I answered several questions blindly. In Quant, you should track your mistakes and analyze them after each practice test.

আমেরিকাতে পড়তে আসার ব্যাপারটা শুরু থেকে শেষ, বেশ ঝামেলা । শুরুতে সিদ্ধান্ত পাকা করা আপনি আসলেই আসবেন কি না , তার পরে ঠিক করা কিভাবে এগুতে হবে, GRE /টোয়েফল দেওয়া , ইউনিভার্সিটি সার্চ করা, এপ্লাই করা, ফান্ডিং এর জন্যে তীর্থের কাকের মত বসে থাকা। এই সমস্যাগুলো অনেকের জন্যেই কিছুদিন পরে একটা মধুর সমস্যায় পরিনিত হবে (অনেকের জন্যে হয়ত ইতিমধ্যেই হয়েছে)। আপনি যদি মাল্টিপল ইউনিভার্সিটি থেকে অফার পান সেই কথা বলছি। তখন অস্থিরতা কাজ করে আর্থিক দিক বিবেচনায় (ধরে নিচ্ছি অন্য সব ফ্যাক্টর গুলো কম বেশী কাছাকাছি) আমার কোন অফারটা নেয়া উচিত । সেটা নিয়েই কিছু অভিজ্ঞতা শেয়ার করি।

নিচে আমার ২টা I -২০ এর কিছু অংশ শেয়ার করলাম। প্রথমটি UCF (অর্ল্যান্ডো ফ্লোরিডা ) এর, দ্বিতীয়টি MST (রোলা মিসৌরি) এর। ভালো করে বাম ও ডান এর কলাম গুলা লক্ষ্য করেন।
১. ডিপেন্ডেন্ট এড করার পরেও সারপ্লাস আছে। পার্সোনাল কোনো ফান্ড দেখতে হয়নি।
২. ডিপেন্ডেন্ট এড করার পরে কিছুটা ডেফিসিট আছে। পার্সোনাল ফান্ড দেখানো লেগেছে ।

তাহলে কি ১ নাম্বারটি ফিনান্সিয়ালি ২ এর চেয়ে ভালো অফার ? আসলে তা না । অর্ল্যান্ডো তে লিভিং কস্ট রোলার প্রায় তিনগুন, অথচ সেলারী কাছাকাছি। MST তে টুইশন আর ফী বাদে বাকি সব খরচ গুলো বেশ ওভার-এস্টিমেট করা হয়েছে । তাই ঐখানে খরচ বেড়ে গেছে, আর ডিপেন্ডেন্ট এড করার পরে কিছুটা ডেফিসিট হয়ে গেছে ।
আমি MST এর অফার একসেপ্ট করার ২ দিন পরেই অন্য একটা ভার্সিটি থেকে অফার লেটার পাই, যেখানে বলা ছিল এরকম :
In addition, to offer you a yearly stipend of $26000, it will cover your tuition and other fees ($24000) and your health insurance ($5000). So, the total package is worth $55000.
তখন তো চিন্তায় পরে গেছিলাম। তাহলে, কি আমার এই নতুন অফারটা নেয়া উচিত ? কিন্তু খেয়াল করলেই দেখবেন , ৫৫০০০ এর পকেটে আসতেছে ওই ২৬০০০, যা আসলে MST এর কাছাকাছি।

তাহলে, কিভাবে বুজবো আর্থিক বিবেচনায় আমার কোন অফারটা নেয়া উচিত? স্টেপ-বাই-স্টেপ:
১) একচুয়াল সেলারী কত সেটা দেখেন। কোনো ফী বা health insurance এর কিছু অংশ নিজের দিতে হলে সেটা সেলারি থেকে বাদ দিন
২) ওই এলাকার লিভিং কস্ট দেখেন। রেন্ট এর সাথে বিল, গ্রোসারী, গাড়ী (পাবলিক ট্রান্সপোর্ট না থাকলে আর বিবাহিত হলে গাড়ি ছাড়া আপনি মোটামুটি অচল), হাবিজাবি খরচ যোগ করেন।
৩) ১ এর সাথে ২ তুলনা করেন।

গুগল সাহায্যেই একটা রাফ ধারণা যাবেন কোনটা ভালো। আর ওই ভার্সিটিতে যদি কেউ অলরেডি থেকে থাকেন, তাহলে তো আরো ভালো। আরো একুরেট ধারণা পাবেন।

আমেরিকায় পড়াশোনা নিয়ে সাম্প্রতিক কিছু পোস্ট এবং মন্তব্য করা থেকে অনেকে আগ্রহী হয়ে আমার সাথে ইনবক্সে যোগাযোগ করেছেন। সেখান থেকে কিছু কমন প্রশ্ন নিয়ে আমি এই পোস্টটি লিখছি। আশা করছি যারা এখানে আবার পড়াশোনা শুরু করতে চাইছেন তারা একটা গাইডলাইন পাবেন। এটি নিউইয়র্ক বেইজড পোস্ট।

শুরুর আগে কিছু কথা বলতে চাই, এখানে এসে আবার পড়াশোনা শুরু করতে পারব এটা ভাবিনি। আমার এস এস সি ২০০২ সালে, এরপর বিভিন্ন কারণে ড্রপ আউট হয়ে যাই। ২০১৪ সালে যখন আমার ইমিগ্রেশন প্রসেসিং শুরু হয় তখন উন্মুক্ত বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে ভর্তি হয়ে যাই এবং ২০১৭ সালে এইস এস সি কমপ্লিট করি। তারপর এখানে এসে দুই বছর বিভিন্ন জব করি। যদিও আমি ড্রপ আউট ছিলাম, কিন্তু পড়াশোনা নিয়ে আমার আগ্রহ কখনো দমেনি। তারপর আমার ওয়াইফ আমাকে উৎসাহ দেয় আবার পড়াশোনা শুরু করার জন্য। এবং আমি কিউনিতে ভর্তি হই। মজার কথা হচ্ছে, আমি প্রথমে ট্রেনে এপেক্স টেকনিকাল ইনস্টিটিউশনের বিজ্ঞাপন দেখে সেখানে তাদের সাথে অটোমোবাইল কোর্স নেয়ার জন্য যোগাযোগ করি [যেহেতু আমার প্রায় বছর খানেক অটো ফিল্ডে ইন্টার্র্নি করার এক্সপেরিয়েন্স ছিল] । সেখান থেকেই আমি ব্রনক্স কমিউনিটি কলেজের কথা জানতে পারি। এবং সেই জার্নি এখনো চলছে! আমি এই পোস্টে এমন কিছু প্রশ্নের উত্তর দিতে চেষ্টা করব এবং নিজের অভিজ্ঞতা শেয়ার করব যা হয়তো আপনি নিজেই খুঁজছেন।

1. এখানে পড়াশোনায় খরচ কেমন?

• ফ্রি!!! এইটা আমি নিজেও জানতাম না। অবশ্য এটি নির্ভর করে আপনার আয়ের উপর। ক্ষেত্রবিশেষে কলেজ থেকে যে ফান্ড পাওয়া যায় তাতে সেমিস্টার শেষে আপনার পকেটে কিছু টাকা আসবে। এখানে অনেক নিড বেসিসে ফান্ড পাওয়া যায়। মেরিট বেসিসেও বেশ কিছু স্কলারশিপ পাওয়া যায়।

2. কলেজে ভর্তি হতে কী কী ডকুমেন্টস লাগে?

• এসোসিয়েট ডিগ্রি শুরু করতে কেবল ইন্টারমিডিয়েট সার্টিফিকেট লাগবে। আপনার লিগ্যাল স্ট্যাটাস নিয়ে কেউ প্রশ্ন করবে না। তবে ফাইনানসিয়াল এইড পাওয়ার ক্ষেত্রে স্টেইট রেসিডেন্সি মেটার করে [নিউইয়র্কে কমপক্ষে এক বছর বসবাসের প্রমান]। বিস্তারিত কিউনি ওয়েলকাম সেন্টারে যোগাযোগ করলে জানা যাবে।

3. ইংরেজিতে দুর্বল, পড়াশোনা কেমনে করব?

• আপনাকে ভর্তি করিয়ে আপনার প্রয়োজন অনুযায়ী ই এস এল ক্লাসে নিয়ে নেয়া হবে। ই এস এল মানে ইংলিশ এজ সেকেন্ড ল্যাংগুয়েজ। তারা আপনার ইংলিশের ভিত্তি শক্ত করিয়ে দেবে। সাথে ম্যাথ ও। তাছাড়া অন্যান্য মননশীল বিভাগ গুলো আপনার জেনারেল নলেজ বেইজ শক্ত করে দেবে।

4. আমি কনভিন্সড। এখন শুরু করব কোথা থেকে?

• সব কাগজ পত্র গুছিয়ে নিয়ে সিটি ইউনিভার্সিটি অব নিউইয়র্ক (সংক্ষেপে কিউনি) ওয়েলকাম সেন্টারে চলে যাবেন। address: 217 E 42nd St, New York, NY 10017 তারা খুব আন্তরিকতার সাথে আপনাকে হেল্প করবে।

5. ওয়েলকাম সেন্টার কী কোন কলেজ? যদি না হয় তাহলে কলেজ কোনটা?

• না। ওয়েলকাম সেন্টার কোন কলেজ না। এটা কলেজের প্রবেশদ্বার বলা যায়। কলেজগুলো বিভিন্ন বরোওতে অবস্থিত। যেমন ব্রনক্সে আছে ব্রনক্স কমিউনিটি কলেজ, ম্যানহাটনে বারুক, হান্টার কলেজ, কুইন্সে লা-গার্ডিয়া, কুইন্সবরো কলেজ ইত্যাদি। আপনার সংশ্লিষ্ট এলাকায় যে কলেজ অবস্থিত আছে একদিন সেখানে গিয়ে ঢু মেরে আসতে পারেন। তাদের ক্যাটালগ ও একবার চোখ বুলাতে পারেন।

6. ফাইনান্সিয়াল এইড মানে বুঝলাম না?

• এটি কলেজে পড়াশোনার জন্য স্টেইট থেকে আর্থিক সহায়তা। প্রায় তিন ধরণের এইড পাওয়া যায়। সাধারণত ফেফসা দিয়ে সব কাভার হয়ে যায়। এছাড়া ট্যাপ এবং এক্সেলসিয়র স্কলারশিপ নামে আরেকটি নিড বেইজড এইড আছে।

7. আমার বয়স অনেক। আবার পড়াশোনা শুরু করলে কেমন দেখাবে?

• বিশ্বাস করুন আর নাই করুন, আমার ৫০ উর্ধ্বো ক্লাসমেট আছে।

এই মুহুর্তে মাথায় যা এসেছে তা এক টানে লিখে ফেললাম। আপনার যদি আর কোন প্রশ্ন থেকে থাকে কমেন্ট করবেন, আমি উত্তর দেয়ার চেষ্টা করব। পরিশেষে বলতে চাই, এখানে আমেরিকায় এসে আমি যেসব সুযোগ পেয়েছি তার মধ্যে আবার পড়ালেখা করতে পারার সুযোগ পাওয়াটা আমি সবার আগে এগিয়ে রাখব! আর কিছু না হোক, অন্তত এই একটা জিনিসের জন্য আমি এই দেশের প্রতি কৃতজ্ঞ।

Me: Good Morning. How are you?

VO: With a boring face moving his head reacting as okay. Then ask me "Pass me your I20 & Passport"

Me : Here is my Passport and I20 .

VO: After that he scanned my passport and asked me, How many universities did I apply to ?

Me: Two Universities. 1. Kent State university 2.Purdue university and i choose Purdue because i got30% waiver from here.

VO:Can I see your other acceptance letter ?

Me : Sure ,here it is . In the meantime he got back my previous refused paper and started to type .

VO:Which Subject are you studying here?

Me :Hospitality and tourism management in 4th year .

VO: Can I see your transcript?

Me : Gave him my transcript and he was convinced after seeing my CGPA . You have achieved a High CGPA congratulations.

VO : how long are you in here ?

Me : said him the exact time .

VO: Have you learned the Korean language ?

Me : I didn’t get time to learn. Also don’t need to be an international student studying in Medium of English instruction .

VO: Who will bear your tuition fees?

Me : told very specifically about my sponsor.

During this time VO checked my passport endorsement.

VO: What will you do after your study?

Me: Told that I will come back and may join the same organisation or any other company as Head of Plant or CEO position.

VO: Do you have anyone of your family member living in US

Me: No Sir but some friends are there.

VO: Okay i am approving your Visa.

Me: Thanks, you made my day.

ADVISE:

Don't panic, try to concentrate on what VO is asking.

Don't elaborate your answers as they are listening same answers from morning,

If you have a credit card then it will be better to endorse it before visa date minimum 1 to 2 weeks earlier.

ME: No, Sir. I do not have.
VO: Then why UMass Amherst?
ME: While pursuing graduate study in China, and doing research, I have cited some of the works published by one Professor from UMass as his research fully aligns with my research and I emailed to the Professor to seek if he has openings. Then I applied as he had openings.
VO: Okay, so because of research you got the connection with your Supervisor?
ME: Yes, sir.
VO: Okay sir, I am approving your visa. Please bring this paper (pointing to my i20) and passport at the US immigration while flying and you will most probably receive an email to collect your passport within 4 days.
