Today weâre here with an important awareness message. A new Anti-virus product recently being sold through many online shopping platforms in Bangladesh. We observed many people without any study or research started promoting this product through public platforms. This is very alarming because this product is already officially banned in Asia, America and many other regions of the world. FDA issued official warning for general people to refrain from the purchase of such scams, this type of products doesnât have any scientific basis and thereâs no official medical certification for use of such products.
The FDA explained that such products, which are usually worn around the neck or put in a shirt pocket, may even bring potential health hazard due to exposure to ingredients such as chlorine dioxide or chlorite.
Exposure to these chemicals through inhalation and skin contact may cause irritation in the mouth, esophagus, or stomach, shortness of breath and other respiratory problems, the FDA added. Moreover, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) already warned and prevented border entry of such products.
The device has been banned by eBay and Facebook, and both Vietnamese and Thai authorities have confiscated them. Vietnamese authorities have said the product has no scientific basis. The chlorine dioxide is used to sterilize hard surfaces, and should not be used near the face: Furthermore, unlike the targets of anti-mosquito devices such as âParakitoâ which work to repel flying insects, viruses are inanimate, and do not âmigrateâ or become attracted to the âVirus Shut Out,â worn around the neck. âThis device is useless in protecting against Covid-19.â
We all have elderly and children in our family, and this is very hazardous for elderly and children as they have low immunity compared to a normal adult. Therefore, exposure to such chemicals chlorine dioxide or chlorite can cause serious health hazard. So, our request to everyone is not to buy this type of products without any doctorâs recommendation or medical expertâs suggestion. Please share this important message to your loved ones, this could save lives.

A new Anti-virus product recently being sold through many online shopping platforms in Bangladesh. We observed many people without any study or research started promoting this product through public platforms. This is very alarming because this product is already officially banned in Asia, America and many other regions of the world. FDA issued official warning for general people to refrain from the purchase of such scams, this type of products doesnât have any scientific basis and thereâs no official medical certification for use of such products. The FDA explained that such products, which are usually worn around the neck or put in a shirt pocket, may even bring potential health hazard due to exposure to ingredients such as chlorine dioxide or chlorite. Exposure to these chemicals through inhalation and skin contact may cause irritation in the mouth, esophagus, or stomach, shortness of breath and other respiratory problems, the FDA added. Moreover, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) already warned and prevented border entry of such products. The device has been banned by eBay and Facebook, and both Vietnamese and Thai authorities have confiscated them. Vietnamese authorities have said the product has no scientific basis.
