-Touristâs Reflections after the Walking Tour around Tirana-
âSince I always do my homework before visiting new places, I usually donât get any surprises. Well, I just did. Contrarily to my expectations, Tirana is a somewhat of a vibrant, lively, pleasant city with large avenues, parks and open spaces, and modern buildings side to side with historical sites and monuments. Mostly important, Albanians are extremely friendly and show a genuine level of interest and appreciation for foreigners, Americans in particular (in fact, I donât recall a place so pro-American, with places displaying the Albanian and U.S. flags side to side). Itâs unfortunate that the tourism infrastructure is still incipient in a city that has the potential to become a travel destination. Iâm glad that I was finally able to come and know what Tirana is about. Nice way to end it before going home.â
