Leave No Trace është lëvizja, e...

Our Experience with guests from Spain 😁
Speaking about old city center of Tirana, the place where Sulejman Pashe Bargjini decided to construct a mosque, a bakery and a hamam. Built in 1614, it was the oldest mosque of the city of Tirana and was one of the oldest mosques in Albania. The mosque was destroyed in the Second World War, its remains and its minaret which still stood were destroyed in 1967 during communism regime. The monument of the "Unknown Soldier" was constructed on its site instead.

“Ora Ă«shtĂ« 8 pa 25 😁”
The Clock Tower of Tirana (Kulla e Sahatit), was built in 1822 in Tirana, Albania by Etëhem Bey Mollaj, a Bejtexhinj poet who also finished the Et'hem Bey Mosque next to the clock tower. It is a monument of culture of first category, approved on 24 May 1948.
The stairs have 90 steps that go in a spiral fashion. It is 35 metres (115 ft) tall and was the tallest building in the city at the time. Since the restoration of 2016, so many visitors were counted, who have visited the tower.

Tirana Mosaic is believed to have been part of a 3rd century Roman house, referred to by local archeologists as the 'Villa rustica'. Later, in the 5th and 6th centuries, a Paleo-Christian Basilica was built around this site. It was declared a cultural monument of the first category in June 1973.
The ruins of this Paleo-Christian Basilica were discovered in 1972. In 2002, some other objects were found around the ruins of the house, and today they form the Archaeological Complex of the Mosaic of Tirana. It is the only archaeological monument within the city. Some of the ancient mosaics discovered at the site that feature diverse geometrical patterns. It was re-opened to the public on 23 January 2010.

-Tourist’s Reflections after the Walking Tour around Tirana-
“Since I always do my homework before visiting new places, I usually don’t get any surprises. Well, I just did. Contrarily to my expectations, Tirana is a somewhat of a vibrant, lively, pleasant city with large avenues, parks and open spaces, and modern buildings side to side with historical sites and monuments. Mostly important, Albanians are extremely friendly and show a genuine level of interest and appreciation for foreigners, Americans in particular (in fact, I don’t recall a place so pro-American, with places displaying the Albanian and U.S. flags side to side). It’s unfortunate that the tourism infrastructure is still incipient in a city that has the potential to become a travel destination. I’m glad that I was finally able to come and know what Tirana is about. Nice way to end it before going home.”
