I was born and raised in Italy, in the island of Sardinia where folkways are still very strong and stayed more or less unchanged in the last 600 years. I learned how to make my ﬁrst ravioli at the age of 3 in my grandmother’s kitchen, with my mother and a ﬂock of many, many, MANY aunts and cousins. The kitchen it’s always been where the real party was, every Sunday and every holiday! I truly have

learned from the best how to make everything from scratch. My desire now is for YOU to get a taste of Italy while learning how to prepare REAL Italian meals from scratch! Sardinian Style! Available one on one private classes in the comfort of your house or even cooking party with your family and friends. Prices varies on the menu. Supplies included.

One of the most beloved memories I have from growing up in the sunny island of Sardinia, is the canning of fresh vegetables for the winter. Well, it’s a fond memory now but I used to hate it because it takes time and lots of work so everybody had to do their part... even the kids.
One of the things we prepared was the classic “Giardiniera” either covered in white vinegar or in EVO oil, this one is made with fresh cauliflower, string beans, corn, peas, red and green peppers and carrots and covered in oil.
Can’t wait to enjoy it when the time will come.

I totally forgot I had the video of my “jump”.
It took me probably 30 minutes to find the courage to jump, I’m extremely scared of highs and even though you can’t really tell from the video, it was very high!!!
Note how I close my nose when I jumped but I took my hand off right before hitting the water.
Hilarious!!!

I was in the car talking to someone about the fact that it’s a choice to believe that people are good and this song came out on the radio.
Never heard it before but it confirmed my point.
Definitely not a coincidence.

I took this picture in Sant Antioco (Sardinia) few weeks ago and I kid you not, I can’t stop thinking about it.
Maybe it’s the colors, maybe it’s the feeling of a moment frozen in time or maybe it’s the fact the my paternal grandfather was a fisherman.
We were in the car on the way to Carloforte and all@the sudden I saw her. I literally yelled at my husband to stop. I got off the car even before the car was at a complete stop and took the photo.
I stay few more minutes after that to just looking at it.
Maybe you may think it’s silly but to me that moment captured in this picture is precious.

VIA STRETTA (1200 circa)

Via Stretta is THE narrowest steer in Cagliari, in the highest part of town called “Castello” or “Casteddu” (Castle).
Every time I go back home, I go back to visit it.
Walking through it makes me feel like I’m entering a magical place that brings me to the ancient times.
I can see with my mind’s eyes people walking around busy with their daily lives so different from ours.

Maybe I’m silly but I love the history and the beauty of my hometown.

Every time I come back from a vacation to my hometown I feel nostalgic and homesick.
This time I feel a mix of emotions, I do feel nostalgic and homesick but I also excited knowing that I will be back soon and in just few years I’ll move back for good.
God definitely spoke to us and clearly opened doors.

LOVE this little guy. * * * He comes every day and literally goes in every single flower of my Blue Potato Bush. My dog hates it but I could spend the entire day just observing him doing its thing. Even as a child I’ve always loved observing any kind of insects. I remember one time (I was 16 probably) I missed the last bus home because I got completely mesmerized watching the life going around a anthill...
