Good news!!!! Timberline Snowmobile Club and Keetna Snowmobile Club have signed an agreement with the new owners of the former CN railway corridor through Pembroke. This will revert the trail system back to how it was previously. The A Trail (Algonquin Trail ) and the B trail will allow for improved access around the City of Pembroke and to local businesses.

Despite the warm start to winter, The Weather Network is declaring that winter has not been cancelled! It will be showing up in January as El Nino is trumped by a polar vortex that is underway, bringing Arctic air across Canada. In fact, they expect that in the second and third weeks of January that we are likely to experience a very active storm track from the Great Lakes to Atlantic Canada.

A FEW WORDS ABOUT HALIBURTON LAKE..

We are behind the 8 ball 🎱 on this portion of TOP Trail "B". The latest ice checks by very experienced lake staking volunteers show 3 1/2" (inches) thickness on this 9 kilometer route. The two some beat a hasty retreat to shore and they are ok thank goodness. Please be aware there is huge risk of getting stuck or in trouble, it's slushville one end to the other. The short version is, Haliburton Lake does not meet HCSA's criteria for lake staking. It not even close 😢

The wait continues...........

19/01/2023

Looks like central & eastern Ontario will benefit most from new snow this weekend that tracks along Lake Ontario and south of the St Lawrence, but southwestern and northern Ontario may be left out.
