Over 362,000 tourists visited Bansko in 2023, the realized overnight stays were over 1.133 million. This is shown in a report provided to BTA by the Municipality of Bansko. The data show that over 75,000 more overnight stays were realized in the municipality of Bansko last year than in 2019, although the number of tourists who visited the resort was about 1,400 less than in 2019.
Most visitors are from Bulgaria - just over 181,000 guests, who have spent over 465,000 nights. Foreign tourists are nearly 30,000 less, or nearly 154,000 guests of the resort municipality, who, however, spent 200,000 nights more than domestic tourists.
There are 92 hotels, 38 family hotels, 142 guest houses and 785 rooms and apartments categorized on the territory of Bansko municipality. The total number of beds in the categorized accommodation facilities is 18,693 beds. The categorized establishments in the municipality, including the hotels, are 528, the Municipality of Bansko informed BTA.
The resort welcomes tourists all year round, with the strongest months of the winter tourist season - from December to March, as well as the eventful and festival-filled month of August. Bansko welcomed the most tourists in February - nearly 60,000.
In 2023, Bansko was visited by over 30,000 Romanian tourists, nearly 24,000 Israeli tourists and just over 22,000 Greek tourists. Over 19,000 guests from Great Britain visited Bansko last year, and those from North Macedonia numbered around 13,000. Traditionally, guests of the mountain resort were also tourists from Serbia, Turkey, Germany, Ireland, Cyprus and Moldova.
