Bulgarian narrow gauge train ❤️

Nestled between towering mountains and endless green valleys, the Bulgarian narrow-gauge train winds through some of the country’s most breathtaking landscapes. But this isn’t just any train ride—it’s a one-of-a-kind experience. As the only narrow-gauge railway in Bulgaria, it offers a rare glimpse into the country’s past, traveling at a leisurely pace through hidden villages and scenic routes inaccessible by car. From the lively town of Septemvri to the picturesque village of Bansko, the train moves through time and tradition.

The train is not the tourist attraction, even though it truly is, but a local transport for the people living here. That’s why the price keeps on being more than reasonable.

The train is included in most of our tours because its unique ❤️ Check more here https://www.bettermoments-bulgaria.com/

I really love hiking, and my husband calls me a mountain goat (though I promise I'm not!). Personally for me there are three highlights on every hike: reaching the peak, getting to the hut (because we love those overnight stays), and, of course, breakfast the next morning. After all, there’s no better reward than enjoying a well-earned breakfast with a fabulous view.

And one more precious point btw - digital detoxication, as far as in many huts in Bulgaria there´s no or veeeery bad connection.

What do you appreciate most on the hikes? Interesting to hear 😊

As summer in Bansko is slowly coming to the end, the skies feel a little emptier. The storks, who graced us with their presence all summer, have mostly flown south, leaving behind only a few. Their familiar nests, now quiet, remind us of the warmth and life they bring here. In just a few days even the last of them will be gone, and we’ll have to wait until spring to see their graceful return. Until then, we go through the memories of their time here, already looking forward to when the skies will be filled with their wings once more.
