🌸 Let's celebrate the International Women's Day with TOURA! 🌟✨

Today and every day, TOURA honors the strength, resilience and achievements of women around the world. 💪🚺 Gender equality knows no boundaries, and together we continue to build a more inclusive world.

The celebration of this day of March 8 is an opportunity for TOURA to celebrate Queen Tassi Hangbé, one of the precursors of women's rights since the 1700s!

Tassi Hangbé was the only woman to have reigned over the Kingdom of Dahomey in 300 years of existence! Despite her short reign of 03 years, Queen Hangbé did a lot for the emancipation of women in the kingdom.

She encouraged women to learn weaving, basketry, blacksmithing, pottery...trades previously practiced only by men. She also created the order of Tassi, female dignitaries recognizable by their loincloths placed on their heads.

Tassi Hangbé is also the one who decided to highlight the competence of women in the same way as men by creating the Agoodjiés also called Amazons! These Agoodjiés were not only the elite of the army to whom they set an example of intrepidity, but they alone made up the entire standing army: because male soldiers were only called up in the event of war.

From 1708 to today, the throne of Tassi Hangbé has seen the succession of six other Tassi Hangbé representing the incarnation of the latter and each designated by the Fâ.

🌸 Célébrons la Journée Internationale des Droits des Femmes avec TOURA ! 🌟✨

Aujourd'hui et tous les jours, TOURA honore la force, la résilience et les réussites des femmes du monde entier. 💪🚺 L'égalité des sexes ne connaît pas de frontières, et ensemble, nous continuons à construire un monde plus inclusif.

La célébration de cette journée du 08 Mars est l’opportunité pour TOURA de célébrér la Reine Tassi Hangbé, l’un des précurseurs des droits des femmes depuis les années 1700!

Tassi Hangbé fut la seule femme ayant regné sur le Royaume de Dahomey en 300 ans d'existence ! Malgré son règne court de 03 ans, la Reine Hangbé a beaucoup agi pour l’émancipation des femmes dans le royaume.

Elle incita les femmes à l’apprentissage du tissage, de la vannerie, de la forge, de la poterie…des métiers autrefois pratiqués uniquement par les hommes. Elle créa aussi l’ordre des Tassi, femmes dignitaires reconnaissables à leurs pagnes posés sur la tête.

Tassi Hangbé est aussi celle qui a décidé de faire valoir la compétence des femmes au même titre que les hommes en créant le corps des Agoodjiés encore appelées Amazones ! Ces Agoodjiés étaient non seulement l’élite de l’armée à laquelle elles donnent l’exemplarité de l’intrépidité, mais composaient à elles seules toute l’armée permanente : car les soldats mâles étaient appelés qu’en cas de guerre.

De 1708 à aujourd’hui, le trône de Tassi Hangbé aurait connu la succession de six autres Tassi Hangbé représentant l’incarnation de cette dernière et désignées chacune par le Fâ.

The International Tour Guide Day, celebrated every year on February 21st, highlights the work and importance of tourist guides for the economy, culture and development of a nation. ☺️

It is therefore an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of these local and national branding players who are often given second place in the tourism chain. 🎊

On this special day for tourist guides around the world, TOURA would like to pay tribute to this profession which is at the heart of the tourism sector because without guides, there is no tourism. 😎

The tour guiding profession has several requirements including the need to have:

📌 Excellent memory

📌 Good knowledge of safety rules for visitors

📌 Mastery of at least one foreign language

📌 Great ability to work in a team and serve customers

📌 Ability to solve problems and make quick decisions when needed

📌 Availability and flexibility to work weekends, public holidays and the summer holiday season.

📍 Added to all this are good skills in the field of information and communication technologies which are now a basis for any contact profession these days.

Big up to the World Federation of Tourist Guide Associations for initiating this day, the first edition of which took place in 1990. 😍

La Journée Internationale des Guides Touristiques célébrée chaque année le 21 février met l’accent sur le travail et l’importance des guides de tourisme pour l’économie, la culture et le developpement d'une nation. ☺️

C’est donc l’occasion de célébrer les accomplissements de ces acteurs du branding local et national souvent relayés au second plan dans la chaîne du tourisme. 🎊

En ce jour spécial pour les guides de tourisme du monde entier, TOURA aimerait rendre hommage à ce métier qui est au coeur du secteur touristique car sans les guides, il n'y a pas de tourisme. 😎

Le métier de guidage a plusieurs exigences dont la nécessité d'avoir une:

📌 Bonne connaissance des règles de sécurité pour les visiteurs

📌 Maîtrise d’au moins une langue étrangère

Cleopatre KOUGNIAZONDE is a dynamic young Beninese woman with the ambition to be a key player in the socio-economic life of Africa.

A woman with many hats, she excels in several domains: Diplomacy & International Relations, English Language Consultation, Conference Interpreting, Experiential and Intelligent Tourism, Destination Promotion, and Entrepreneurial Leadership.

She is among the pioneers of immersive and intelligent tourism in Benin. Her passion is to breathe life into African and, particularly, Beninese stories and heritage for better cultural ownership and national heritage preservation.

On the international stage, Cléopatre KOUGNIAZONDE actively advocates for changing the negative perception of Benin through international conferences and a storytelling/narrative that illustrates Benin as an authentic and unique country, shaped by the history of great men and women it has witnessed.

Since 2018, Cléopatre KOUGNIAZONDE has been part of a group of experts regularly called upon by the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Arts, and the National Agency for Tourist Heritage (ANPT).

In 2020, Cléopatre KOUGNIAZONDE was appointed by the Beninese government to the Technical Sector Commission for Tourism, Hospitality, and Catering, prioritizing the restructuring of this sector since 2016.

In March 2022, Cléopatre KOUGNIAZONDE was the only French speaker to receive one of the prestigious AviaTour awards in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, recognizing the quality of her work over 20 years, her impact, and innovation.

👨‍🍳 Chef Aziz Agbo-Panzo, un ancien basketteur au grand cœur, a découvert sa passion pour la cuisine lors de ses études en France. Loin de chez lui, il a appris à cuisiner pour retrouver le goût des plats traditionnels sénégalais. Sa grand-mère lui a transmis les secrets du yassa, du mafé et bien d'autres délices.

🌟 Passionné de cuisine, il vit entre Dakar et les États-Unis. Promoteur culinaire, il est le fondateur de Zbox Cuisine, entreprise spécialisée dans la vente de matériels de cuisine et de Cooking with Aziz & Friends, une communauté de plus de 20.000 passionnés de cuisine à travers le monde.

🍴 Chef Aziz a initié des nombreux événements culinaires dont le Dakar Restaurant Week, la Promenade Culinaire d’Abidjan, Le Salon des Traiteurs et d’autres types d’Ateliers de cuisine.

Do you know that it was a woman, with a 19 year experience in the Tourism sector, who enabled our nation to inscribe its name in golden letters at the 4th edition of this ceremony? Cléopatre KOUGNIAZONDE, member of the Consortium Tourists Per Million, is the CEO of TOURA, an intelligent and experiential tourism agency. From March 8 to 10, 2022, she took part in Dubai at the AviaTour Conference and Prize. Rewarded for her brilliant participation in this high-level touristic and economic event, she was the only French-speaking representative to be distinguished in this way.
